29:16 "I thought I could build across this ridge" You most likely can. You may need to dig your way through, it is a bit tricky: Use outdoor installations, experiment with different sizes, and remember the mine can be placed inside the ridge. When finding a position with an outdoor installation on both sides, connect them. The large platform connecting them cut a way through! No need to build them, just placing them and cancel them again. Useful in other situations too, like when having too little space between the base an a mountain, then persistent placing of various smaller buildings and removing them before they get build, can dig more space!

4:36 "Sometimes it is a cable, sometimes it is a large platform." It is "large platform" when it is between two outdoors installations. (The airlock count as outdoors) It is "cable" when it is between an outdoor installation and a covered installation.

Plants don't need spare parts, they need biologists to take care of them. It's good idea to have oxygen generators spaced evenly, group of oxygen generators doesn't reach the farthest buildings. Some places (like dorms) require better access to oxygen too, I think

A few tips to optimise your current base: 1) Remove the small dorms and make them larger… Saves up on resources and space. 2) Airflow…. In larger bases, or those growing. Ensure you have a Large O2 station every 3 spots … A - B - C - O2 - D - E - F - O2 … This can also be done in a triangle. Colonists consume O2. And more of them in an area can deplete it. O2 is in this game an invisible flow!!! 3) Resource creation and efficiency... - Carrier bots should be at a ratio of 1 for every 2 colonists early to mid game... late game it can go to 1 for every 4. Carriers keep your colonists from wasting time. (Aka, workers working in mine or at their station!) - Layout should be slowly moved to the following if possible …. Mine -> Airlock -> O2 -> factory/storage -> canteen - For food production same can be applied … Biodome (or 3 eventually) -> O2 (plants consume this during night time!) -> Canteen O2 -> laboratory -> (living conditions) -> medical bay Keeping say 1 medical bay pure for storage with 2 actuall bays for people, allows doctors to cure a lot of sick later on in the game! 4) Energy supply - Wind energy is unreliable, but can be done throughout the day - Solar is a must on the desert planet… Stock up on the day, use wind to lower amount at night! - Shutting down buildings during the nighttime is a valid option! - Try building only the largest energy collectors … More efficient for less resources! - Distance between buildings = energy loss When building an energy park... try to make the energy buildings in a U shape … This way you can insert your base (via a long line) I into the U with an airlock. This allows engineers to quickly get out, repair stuff and get back inside. Large bases tend to make for wonky pathfinding! 5) Happiness: - Either supply villagers with better sleeping conditions (goes faster and heals morale), or Ensure they can have some exercise. Layout of your base is important on this! An unhappy colonist needing to run half the base to get a drink = bad. - Consider making clusters for your people. Aka … Food biome region with starch factories…. Mining area with factories for metal … These then provide the carriers to move goods to the engineer area, where they get made into higher tier equipment... Which then goes to the Robot factory part. 6) Late game: Keeping 1 or 2 robot repair facilities throughout the base, allows your bots to stay functional for longer! As said once before, making a seperate region for your landing zone... With security and storage, is a must!... PRIORITY!!! Your base is getting to the point you can get bad colonists trying to attack you. Specialise the base into sectors... 7) Tips: Want more space to fit a building?! ... Make space via a simple trick... Place down a mine... Connect it to the base... then use a sole isolated 'pad' and connect that to the mine at the place you want to expand… The connection will 'clear' the space. Remove the pad and repeat to slowly 'chip away' at the terrain. Before going into accepting visitors (way to make money!), Ensure your base has laser protection and communication… This requires THREE operational buildings! (aka at all times a worker needs to be sitting at a station... Using a guard station designated specifically for this task is a must.) Hoping this will help ya out!... Remember, recycling is valid in a space game!!!

You could stop colonists coming in while you are fixing the problems with water and oxygen. F4 shows the status of oxygen and power. It is impossible to take a base over a certain size without the necessary techs.

Raptor, My cousin Billy and myself greatly enjoy your building series, but I have had to pause your videos before every trader so I can Duct Tape his mouth shut so he does not wake the dead with his "REEE's" However, he did make one good point I thought I should tell you: Semi-conducter sells for 15 and requires a metal and a plastic, so it also has a worker cost in the mine and a biologist to farm the starch to make the plastic which needs another person. and then the engineer makes the semi conductor. vs. Medicine sells for 25 and needs medicinal plants, so a biologist and then a medic to make the medicine. half the material time cost half the person cost and an extra 10 value. also I have no cousin named Billy.

two things: First off, out there in the Dark of the Cosmos, there are the PlayerCaracters, they will find your little home, and they will try to MurderHobo you over every thing you own. Secoundly: Bots accumulate unrepairable damage over time and will compleatly break down after a while~~~

You need more solar... Think of using windmills to supplement your power loss during the night. And rely heavily on solar panels on this particular planet other planets will change once you unlock them. But this one it’s more important to rely on solar to get your power needs

Connections cost resources to construct. Those resources are lost! (You do not regain those resources when removing connections later. And they drain electricity! That said, there are some benefit to having more connections, at least for indoor tunnels, as they allow the colonists to get around easier.

bringing goods around your base takes a LOONG time, because there are no shortcuts, no matter what you bring or to where you have to goto the center. = lot of time just walking,, could be reduced with cross coridors..

Trees add only small bits of O2 during the day and happines for morale… But nighttime they consume it... Hence Biodomes tend to run out if the O2 flow is poorly managed… Like in his base currently.

Generally you are better off building the largest things that you can - they increase the production, and have the same maintenance costs.

If you click the landing pad, then click the circle icon in top right of the landing pad info window, you can set the percentages of what types of people join your base. This is a very important aspect to the game. For example, if you need more workers, set it to 100% workers for a little while until you reach the number of desired workers. If you have too many security officers, set them to 0%.

I would cut the Southern air lock off get rid of it then add a room to the oxygen room to extend the base south you can reconnect the port back useing a battery with two connection points
