Came across your run starting with ep 1 over the weekend. Bought the game after ep 4. Learning lots of things. Annoyed there is no pause other than game menu, started a few colonies to figure things out. Learned 1. Without bunks, colonists develop trauma injuries within a couple days, making them useless(sucks when your workers have this happen) 2. Engineers like to wait until the last minute to repair a droid. 3. It is possible for your ship to land where you can't build, and your colonists will run out of o2 before you can build a startup for your base due to travel and carrying time. 4. It is possible to get a starting colonists hit bt a meteor right at the start of the game (1 second after cinematic intro) 5. Can't skip cinematic. 6. "Unlikely" meteor strikes still means 3+ per day 7. If you leave stuff on your ship, your colonists "forget" it's there after a while until you deconstruct the ship.

I love how Raptor speeds up the game to get rid of the intruders quickly. But never hits the red alert 😂 With red alert on all security guards go after intruders and all people defends the base.

You can disable airlocks so attackers do not go in certain ones. They are easy to spot as you usually do not get more than 3 visitors or colonists from a ship unless you got a radio signal first for a bunch of injured people.Only put one entrance even near the landing pads and have it go directly into the security station and cram something like 5-6 security stations in there so you always have guards there. I like having the medic right next to that as the guards take quite a bit of damage. You really need more armed guards for that large of a colony. I would do 10% so you have enough for 2 shifts. The extras will wander around guarding still. It takes forever to get t he population to 300. It seems you colonist die faster, more meteor storms, and you robots breaks super fast. To hit 300 you might need like 4-6 landing pads, 2 airlocks with 2 security sations and 30 guards. You likely need a lot of robots and since they die fast, possibly 4+ circuit builders and 4 robot builders just cranking out carry bots. I would have 1 robot repair station for every 10-15 robots or you will use up a ton of time and repair kits. Dietary needs are simple... mix it up. Take one of each vegetable, starch, and meat. The food vending stations are more important than tables. I do 2 large tables and 6 vending machines plus 2 drinking fountains (2 more drinking fountains in the bar and 2 more in the multi room). Each cluster of the 2-3 dorms have 1-mess, 1-bar, 1-multi, 1 storage, 2-3 air, 1 bio, one lab. Place them in groups near what they do, so have food production and storage in that cluster, so they are not travelling across the station all the time. I think the reputation effects how many people come to the colony and the prices you pay. The pyramids are much more effective as the monolith takes circuits and those build very slow... and are needed for robots. Yes lots of carry bots and a 3 drill bots per mine. I usually only have 1 assembly bot so my engineers do not have to go out in the sand storms. This game needs more stuff though. Vehicles so you can move faster outside and haul more cargo, different mines would be cool, armor and better weapons for the guards would be nice. Most of all I wish there was more flexibility on placing stuff... like shorter tubes would be great or the ability to upgrade

You should have all your landing pads in one location then have multiple air locks funnel into one lowly populated building with only one connection to the control centre filled with security panels. That way the bandits only have one point of entry and are funnelled towards your security guards. My intruders never get past the security centre

No it's not hidden. It was reset probably due to the lack of available expansion lol. 😅 It was easy actually to solve last problem. Just delete the land pads and replace it into an airlock. You can expand again. But clearly Raptor remade his base.

I wanted to see if I could build a base holding 1000 colonists. I got to 600 colonists and 700 robots. After that the lag of the game became so much that you could not even build anymore.

Oh dear, you didn't put a Control Center to monitor all access through the airlocks. What works well, if you are still interested in the game, is to place an oxygen generator in front of the control center where the security will hang out. That way you can connect three airlocks to the oxygen generator so anyone entering the base will have to pass through the Control Center before they have access to any other base structures, or personnel. I place all landing pads and space ports on one end of the base, which helps to prevent a lot of problems with raiders.

You should work a little bit on your structural design of the colony making it more efficient and reachable for every colonist with clear paths not to long hallways and every building easily connected one to another, you can also flatten the mountains around you if the area is not that flat 😁

Blimey what a huge difference between Ep 5 and Ep 6. yes I would have had only one or two airlocks at the star port a long way away from the others and I would have had security post right next to all air locks anyway. it is a shame you could not have outside anti- intruder gun units and as you said be able to lock down a corridor with a big blast door if needed? You did a great job playing it anyway. Be nice to see you take on the more harder levels of the game like the ice one.

Having your landing area in one region only… With a bottle neck moving into 1-3 security regions, keeps that need at a minimum. Allowing about 20 guardsmen in one small area, where the visitors are forced to pass through is the cheapest and best option.

Of all the things I have done in this game, I loved the dark moon challenge. No traders till you beat it, and long nights with no windmills. you really had to have the game down to get through it. The thunderstorm planets are really unique and are just fun too. Your Spaceports have gotten a lot of hostiles lately, Have you considered setting up some security stations where the airlock is and shift the spaceports over a bit. A strong welcome might curtail the tourist a bit. : )

Maybe you figured it out already, but use the Yellow alert when threr is sandstorm, that minimizes injuries. Red alert is for intruders, when Visitors start to Come.

I like this game. I play it often. But am still pissed at the devs for never finishing the game. It was just a money grab in my opinion. They made it semi interesting, just enough to get people to buy then they stopped. The same thing with another space game Aven Colony if you have played it. Really great game, but those devs also just left it half assed. what is it with these devs make a kick ass game, well start to get it great, then they abandon it for something else.

travel efficiency is a key aspect of growth and would be tough for this one to reach 300. So it is important to properly connect and plan so people can stay in their il areas where manufcturing is by processing, etc. Imagine the base as a bunch of cells to make a body. Especially security. Had the right concept. If you got your base with cameras securing the entry so all go through security? Hit red alert and problem solved. Wasting time for raiders also wastes time for peeps. Walking about tires and that removes happiness.

Glory to Raptoria! I joined steam and bought the game because of your videos! (I cannot get the tutorial to work. I click on oxygen generator, the first building, and nothing happens. I do not get the red version of the building. I either get sent back to the previous menu or I get told that the building I never got to place was in the wrong place. Obviously I am missing something obvious. I am a Mac9 person so this left/right click stuff confuses me but neither work and everyone dies ... in the tutorial! Any suggestions welcome!)

Things I wanted in the game. A CSO (Chief security officer), CO's (Commanding Officer) under him and up to 7 security officers under them. Sec needs to kill 4 intruders for CO rank. Garage for ATV's for search and rescue missions/repair missions. Better guns. Small pistols AND rifles. Unlock a docking building. Where once a ship lands, it can still trade etc but it's watched by 3 guards to avoid theft of it's cargo. Ship maintenance service. Droids leave it to repair visitors ships for extra $$$. Crematorium.... please. Holding cells to put in captured attackers. With sell or extradite or kill option.
