Don't understand the ratings at all. He explains them at the end of the video, suggest you watch that first. Then in the Subi Outback test the kid in the back; head goes under the airbag, smashes into the window, and bouncing around at angles in the seatbelt and it was rated "Acceptable". The Honda Accord the kid smashes his head against the roof.? What? Seriously. They forgot to put paint on the back of the head. LOL. The Nissan looked the sweetest of the lot, IMO, with the rear seatbelt tensioning and less movement and it gets Marginal. Even the Sonata and Kia looked better than the Subi..... Wacking your head against an airbag is not the same as a window frame. Hmmm, interesting.

I agree to me it looked like the Nissan Altima did the best on control and movement and where the head hit. The Subaru looked awful??? I know they base it on forces and injuries but wow. The Accord did look good too so I would say the Honda Accord and Nissan Altima looked the best from observing the video. But what do I know lol just by watching.

The dummies take measurements when a body part is hit against something or seatbelt so jsut because something looks god doesn’t mean it is bud.

@@kmckenzie2461like I said to the regional commenter, just because something looks good doesn’t mean the measurements on the dummy were.

So Jetta is a midsize, yet the Civic which is larger, is considered a compact here.

I'm surprised that the Toyota Camry's rear window shattered in a (Frontal) crash & that the front windshield didn't...???
@NeverGonnaGiveYouUp715 ай бұрын
The windshield is the strongest glass in a car, so it's impossible to break. The rear window probably shattered due to the rear end slightly crumbling.
@tiltshiftvis3 ай бұрын
rear windows are made out of breakout glass so that if you ever drive your car into the lake you can break out of it

Not surprised with Honda being on top. I use to work for Honda in upper management. Honda employs hundreds of people who’s only job is to ensure the best safety rating prior to releasing any new model. These people make 6 figures per year and really take their job seriously.

No real surprise here … Korean manufacturers Hyundai and Kia are not only unreliable but they are unsafe to rear passengers.

I don't get it. What am I missing? Rear passenger in the accord literally hits its head against the rear window. GOOD ... Rear passenger in the Jetta is saved by the curtain airbag. POOR

40 mph is low speed....they should do the tests at a higher speed, being more realistic at the speed that cars travel on the roads.....these tests are very inefficient.

If you crash into a solid object at 60mph you're dead. Even if you dress like Superman. 40 mph would be a good breaking speed for impact in my opinion.

Agree. That Subi was not safe for the kid. Lol.

Biased methodology. Hitting head on the airbag is rated worse than hitting the roof or side window on this test.
