Hay Planet Mojo watching you tackle a lot of projects motivates me. I am not a carpenter I drove tractor trailers for thirty years. But one of my passions are doing projects around the house.

Hi Eric. You can tackle pretty much any job with the right tools and good advice (if needed). If you get stuck on anything just give a shout and I'll help if I can 😊

If that's the same foam I've been using, no need to use up the whole can in one go. Once you've done what you need, dunk the tube/straw into some ethanol/methylated spirits. Do the same with the nozzle of the can. If the foam hasn't fully cured it will mostly dissolve allowing at least one if not two more times you can use the remainder.

The solvent for polyurethane foam is acetone, and that cleans it up just fine - but the can will still harden-up after awhile. You are correct though, you can get a few uses out of it if you do them quick enough 😊

We are wanting to move a door a few feet from the kitchen to where a window is. What does the cost typically run electrical is also surrounding both areas.

You can usually extend an existing circuit. There should be one on either side, or the same one on both sides.

How much would a job like this cost usually it's do-it-yourself? I would like to hire someone to have it done correctly and professionally but I don't think this is an impossible job for myself

It's a relatively easy job to remove the window. Installing the door and matching the trim on the outside and drywall or whatever is on the inside can be hard to very hard. Just look at all of the tasks and assess if you can do them or not. Good luck!

Hello, I just finished watching your 3rd video but I don’t find the last one that where you install the door.

Hi Quetzachapin, I never video taped the door install. I had help lifting it into place and the person did not want to be on video. The only video I have installing a door is this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iobNn5WLeMd9pbc -- but again I don't show the door being installed, just the framing and after the door is installed. 😐

Accepting the premise that there are no stupid questions, let me push the limit. What determines whether you use screws or nails? I can see pros and cons for each. Which doesn't help a whit. Thanks for the info & vids. I know how much more time it takes to record/edit what you're doing. Appreciate it.

Hi Samlon, there was a lot of controversy 'back in the day', but the main difference is shear and pull-out strength (also cost). Screws have a ton of pull-out strength and nails always had more sheer strength, so that was always the deciding factor -- whether the lumber would be in a sheer situation or a pull out situation. Modern construction screws have bridged the gap in shear strength and a lot of contractors now use construction screws exclusively. I still nail things, but use screws far more than nails these days. Make sure to use construction screws, never drywall screws and you should be fine. There are definitely uses for nails, but I don't use them anywhere near as much as I used to, and lastly, the ability to quickly and easily take things apart is a huge bonus for screws 😊
