I have Mercury in Capricorn. (Sun and Venus in Capricorn as well -with Virgo moon and Pisces Rising) I present in a soft, nurturing way. “Calming presence” is what most would say about me. However, this creates a difficult impression to overcome when people realize that I have a depth that can not be swayed, manipulated or bullied.I have found myself in situations where people have not recognized my Capricorn but only see my Pisces. I am very motherly and dream a lot and I rarely speak my inner truth because it is fierce with no chasers and seems in a discord with how people read me. They are thrown off and therefore, “intimidating” is the next most common phrase used to describe me. This causes me personal duress so then I, in turn, do not know what to do with that aspect of my personality. My youngest son has said both of these phrases.One, in regards to applying for a job that I felt unqualified “Mom, you are warm and engaging with people and for your age, technically savvy and intelligent. I would hire you in a heart beat .People trust you and you are authentic.” In regards to dating, “Mom, men are just intimidated by you”. It’s tough for folks to see Mother Theresa but get Take No Prisoners 🌟🤷🏻‍♀️😩 It’s always been a personal challenge to navigate 😢🙂

This resonates! I have Mercury, Venus and Sun in Cap. With Moon in Cancer and Rising in Aquarius I'm pretty warm and easy going, but there is a serious side that I can call on when needed. I've been told that when in conflict, (is RARE!) I approach it like a lawyer, with my points time stamped and bulletproofed, but people definitely don't expect it. People have joked that the intensity of my eye contact alone qualifies me to do FBI level interrogations (LOL)

I have Mercury in Capricorn within a stellium that includes the Sun, Saturn and Jupiter within ten degrees. I just had my second Saturn return on my birthday which was 1/12 so i think you are spot on about the heaviness, intensity, rebellious and psychedelic nature of the Mercury/Capricorn placement. I think it also has a tendency to be futuristic, esoteric and prophetic. Most of the movies Mel Gibson directed and many of the messages David Bowie addressed were very occult oriented.

Mercury/Capricorn (7th place) in my natal chart, I’ll have to ponder how it blends with Saturn at 21 degrees in Libra. My son and I both have a stellium in Capricorn (sun and moon there, he’s got more). His Mercury is also in Capricorn (9th place), he’s an articulate kindergartner, pretty serious kid, that acts like a wise old man. He listens with interest when I explain a planet in his natal chart to him. My husband says that I am my sons defender, especially when he can be a pain, dark and harsh. He’s a rising Taurus and hope to teach him how to be more flexible and able to compromise with others lol. I have an authoritative parenting and teaching approach. I’m a middle school art teacher and love to get otherworldly and philosophical with my students. This otherworldly teaching style has stirred up misjudgments from fearful/angry parents. I am good at getting my students to think outside the box and consider why something is a certain way. As the black sheep of a VERY large Mormon family (oldest of 5 kids had to mature quickly). I am versed in feeling like an outsider. When I left that religion behind me it was very much, “I don’t care what you think!” this has only helped reinforce my distant nature. Hopefully I can lessen the heaviness of this energy as I continue to meditate on my chart. Thanks Acyuta-bhava Dasa, hope you and your family had a lovely Christmas. Mercury in Capricorn, yes! That is my placement and it totally makes sense. I’ve been told that I walk into a room and without even saying anything make others feel intimidated. I’m not sure I understand that, but somewhere in me I must come across as powerful? I am just a plain person.

I have Mercury in Capricorn and I'm very quiet. When I do speak, I'm very calm. I would also say that my thinking is pretty mature, I'm 15 years old and I think about astrology a lot and Mandela-effect and all spiritual and supernatural things like that. I know how to read birth charts at some kind of level. I'm also vegan and thinking about ecological things. Oh and my Mercury is in the 12th house which also affects some of those things.

It's funny because when people first meet me they think im this very friendly person, might be my 10 years of customer service. However my closest friends always say "I didnt know you had such a dark sense of humor"🤣I anonymously write psychological thriller/supernatural stories online and keep my passion for writing away from family and friends. Mercury in capricorn in my 11th house. It is opposite my cancer moon and conjunct my capricorn venus. Always felt misunderstood growing up, always the outsider. (Aquarius sun and rising added a lot to that). I’m now at a place where I’m beginning to grasp that attitude of “this is me. This is how I communicate and process my thoughts and if someone doesn’t agree with it then oh well!” Moon is also in my fifth house and with it being opposite my Mercury I often find it very difficult to articulate all the creative ideas I can come up with, so they end up just living in my head. A very frustrating energy.

Gosh. Feel better about myself (Mercury in my sun sign of Capricorn) looking at all those others. Particularly Bowie. Was born a year after him. Discovered only recently that my birth, on 30th Dec was registered on his birthday, 8th January. He was the voice/friend of my adolescence - we are talking 1972 -74.Then my mother died on 8th January in 2017 a year after his death. I have been finding all sorts of weird coincidences since then. So great! I'm at the point in your class where I am meditating on charts of people I know. I sort of know this oddball character with this configuration (with a Capricorn sun, Gemini Rising, and Aries moon,) and I would say this fits to a tee. He is the more irreverently serious/intense kind. All I knew at first was that Mercury in Capricorn in the 8th house must be something intense. Never had anyone talk to me quite the way he does. Definitely an outsider type and "other." Thanks for bringing some first impressions of Mercury in Capricorn into more undertandable relief!

Hello from India. Mercury in Capricorn, 3rd House. My own voice often startles me as if it came from outside myself.. odd, but true. I have been told innumerable times that my feet don’t appear to touch the ground when I walk. It’s a strange combination, to be described as ethereal (lacking in substance), but having a sort of cutting effect with spoken word. It is common for the room to go dead at dinner parties when I speak, as if I scattered everyone’s thoughts and a minute has to be taken for conversation to resume... I am left to wonder if I came across in a sane manner. I seem to be hard to approach as if people don’t know where to place me, though I have never felt left out and have been accepted by a myriad of social circles. This leads me to believe that it’s something about my nature rather than my verbal skills that keeps me in the fold, if I so desire. I am a stranger to myself and still I am able to enjoy life immeasurably. Haunted by the joy of discovery I continue to play along. I have often considered there to be other factors involved with my lackluster of casual conversion and my inability to join in with unnoticed subtlety. For instance the possibility that my cognitive abilities are not up to par with my “higher mind” and so on (by the way, your class is working magic in that respect.. thank you). Chit chat (even if it is a kind of innocent chirping of birds) I find to be a waist of time. I am continually telling myself that time is an illusion to bring awareness to the moment, as it is, beautiful or not... to my liking or not it is all God. If the subject of conversation was to fall on time or form and the formless, God or the unknowable then I am able to listen or talk for hours usually followed by a renewed sense of urgency to meditate. Is it not curious how we are sparked so wonderfully by the play of words? I am also an “old monk” when it comes to daily meditation who accepts it for whatever it is... mystical adventures or the solidity of the eternal moment, but what is it about the heightened longing to wake up that gives one the feeling that there is no time to spare? This feeling of being incapsulated in a sphere of continual movement where perhaps the stillness lies beyond? I love words and yet gratefully that untouchable silence is forever calling to me as if I am not already at home. How silly it all is........ What I do know is that your class has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life... thank you.

Mercury in Capricorn in the 10th house. It's conjunct Venus in Aquarius. I have a Capricorn stellium (Mercury with Uranus, Neptune and Saturn in the 9th house) I come off as serious, calm and aloof...I'm also an Aquarius sun 🤷‍♀️ I'm usually mistaken for supervisor/administrator at work (over the phone) . I'm an office clerk. I like Michelle Obama's voice. I enjoyed listening to her audiobook, Becoming. It's comforting 🥰. Funny you mentioned Shakira....I read her elementary school teacher told her she had a terrible singing voice and sounded like a 🐐...she was made fun because of it. I listened to Shakira before she went mainstream in America. I listened to her Spanish album as a kid (Donde Estas los Ladrones, released in 1998). I believe she sounds better in Spanish than English. She sounds more fluid but has come along way in English.

Very in thought deliberate, but, can stand up for family, friends, underdogs, authoritively and defiantly. Merc opp Uranus 6th T Square Saturn 9th 2.2o Libra. I am seen as Deep, spiritual, elegant with poise but press my button and can be very authorative in a stately manor which works with the way I look haha and am a respected guru among friends. Very deep knowing thoughts. I always felt like outsider. Mother repressed my outspokenness but father commanded I be heard.

I'm a Cap Sun and Mercury and I get the "calm authority" comment sometimes. I definitely don't mean to come across as such, it's just there. I'm a quiet speaker, usually measured and composed and when I speak, I notice some people really listen while others get intimidated. Sometimes the bad-assery rears its head, which I find surprises most people. It really is like putting Anthony Hopkins next to Samuel L Jackson. My ASC is Pisces so I feel like this creates an issue because people think I'm soft at first, but then they realise that I have a sharp radar for bullshit and a critical eye. :) I think one thing that hasn't been mentioned is a very particular type of humour, which I find is common with the Mercurial Cappies. It's intelligent, often dry and unexpected. :)

Mercury is in Capricorn in my 11th house, with Saturn in Taurus in my 3rd. As time has progressed and I have rejected my family's views and lifestyle, I have become the proverbial black sheep in my family. In particular, my brother seems to really dislike me. I am pretty serious, but goofy AND serious? I see my seriousness and can poke fun at it? Perhaps this is the influence from my Pisces Ascendant or my Sagittarian Sun. It also has sea goat mythology in it signs usually have more than one symbolism. I'm not gonna discuss further if you don't resonate with the mountain goat symbolism though, you can do your own research. 🤍

That can show a mind with a lot of potential for deep intuition/psychism and wisdom. It's not often talked about, but Capricorn is one of the psychic-intuitive Signs, though not to the degree of Pisces or Aquarius. And Jupiter and Neptune are very psychic/intuitive. Capricorn could help to ground, steady, and balance those very expansive energies and help to provide some necessary structure, discipline, and purpose to them.

I have the chart/Asc ruler the Sun in Capricorn, and the ruler of 4 Virgo placements, Mercury, also in Capricorn and these are widely conjunct (with Mercury trine 1st House Virgo Jupiter with less than a degree of separation). Probably no surprise that yellow and blue were my favorite colors when a child. Anyways, I happen to think that Capricorn is co-ruled by Uranus. Why? Holistic logic. Most of the Zodiac is made up of Sign pairs that share a traditional ruler. In fact, we have 5 pairs of Signs that do so. Aries-Scorpio, Taurus-Libra, Gemini-Virgo, Sagittarius-Pisces, and Capricorn-Aquarius. Notice any patterns there? All the pairs of Signs that share a traditional/ancient ruler, all have multiple signs in between them, except for the last pair of Capricorn and Aquarius--these are the only ones that are right next to each other and in a sense are "touching" each other (especially via the cusp areas of plus or minus 7 degrees from the end or beginning of the Signs). I think this unique relationship between Capricorn and Aquarius out of all the Sign pairs (which make up 10 of the 12 Signs of the Zodiac!), indicates and says, "not only do they share a traditional ruler, but also a modern ruler". But I think in different proportions, whereas Aquarius would be Uranus-Saturn, Capricorn would be Saturn-Uranus. Also interesting to note that Saturn has always been depicted as rather Yang/masculine in nature, and yet Capricorn is a Yin/feminine Sign. Edgar Cayce called Uranus that of the psychic, the unusual, and the extremes most often. To be psychic/intuitive, one has to learn how to quiet themselves and listen and tune in at a deeper level. It is a very Yin process, and because of that, Uranus clearly has a strong Yin side (though also has a Yang side for sure as well, and it tends to flip back and forth between extreme expressions). I think Uranus co-ruling Capricorn is what helps contribute to the Yin/feminine side of the Sign, despite it being said to be ruled by very Yang/masculine Saturn.
