actually the lore says that Kriegers get commissars as PR agents to ensure that they get along with other regiments aswell as stratgic advisors as krieg officers often get too focused on their section of the battlefield and forget about the bigger picture. kriegers don't really care about liveing or dieing, only winning. they can accept caseualties if it is to achieve victory but will disobay dirrect orders if they think it will give unnecessary casualties to their troops under their command.

Most commissars of Krieg are from other planets. They got only two orders: Maintain cooperation between Death Korps and other regiments, while also telling Kriegers when not to commit suicidical banzai or when to retreat. That is how insane Kriegers are. (Which is not a surprise coming from 14 years old clones.)

Codex I like Kriegers, they have the perfect mindset, and their zeal Is something often miss in other imperial citizens...but... they just need a bit more of mirth in their daily life... I feel awkward giggling as I torch heretics surrounded by those o so serious and somber warriors... they seem incapable to enjoy anything, not even doing the most rewarding things ever, the emperor’s work, can steal a smile from them.. only when charging impossible odds, which is a noble endeavor and always moves me to tears, they grin and smile... there is something as over eagerness to meet the god emperor.. his work must be done here and now after all.... and can not be done by dead men...

I am glad to hear that there are good books out there (though that shouldn't really be a surprise) perhaps I will delve into those since I don't really have any desire to get into the game itself.

xF4LC0NxPUNCHx The books are definitely what got me into the universe. The games are okay if you like RTS style or FPS games, SpaceHulk Deathwing and Dawn Of War 1 are great. The Space Marine game is also pretty good fun But nothing compares to the atmosphere the books give. My first ever book was Deus Encarmine I think it was, based on the Blood Angels when I was 8-9 or something like that. And I realised I have to start from the start so got into the Horus Heresy, which is 44 books or so? Not quite sure. But the way they write characters and everything is just beautiful. I hope the books can give you as much enjoyment as they do to me

I'm 44 and started playing 40k when I was 17. I've fallen off the game part of the hobby due to the rules changing so much over time that the armies I'd built always felt out of date. I love the modeling aspect of the game and continue to paint and customize minis to this day. I'm currently in the middle of reading the Horus Heresy novels. The inspiration to delve deeper into the lore was your channel. Love it! Keep it up.

Funny enough commmissars assigned to Krieg units often struggle to hold krieg troops back from committing suicidal bayonet charges and the like, and find themselves doing the opposite of what regular commissars do. Picture if you will a commissar promising double dessert rations if the kriegers wait 5 minutes to assault a fortification so they can use ladders to scale the walls instead of a ramp made of their own corpses.

When a hive city refused to pay it tithe and they killed imperials the krieg shelled them for years. I believe it was like 7 years of shelling untill the city was completely destroyed..and after 5 years they surrendered. Don't fuck with badass looking space Nazi's they'll fuck you up.

Yes, although the most popular stories focus on the wars and horrors of the far future most people in the Imperium live relatively normal, if impoverished, lives. If you live in a peaceful, unmolested system then you may have that option. Especially if your live on a agriworld, ocean world, garden world, or a civilised/Terran world. Not everyone lives on a death or Hive world (Especially death worlds).

I have lately been finding that I don’t really pay much attention to many of the channels to which I am subscribed.
