My rule of thumb is to plan out my escape route before any engagement and dont get greedy. Engage, get one or two kills, then go back and repair. If you stay in fights for too long you will give your enemies time to prepare themselves you will get decimated by heavies and armor. Every single bad driver I see out there just drive blindly into unknown enemy territory expecting that there wont be any enemies of just overextend fights.

One other thing, if you are TR and are with a group of other allied Harassers, mix Halberds with Vulcans - High Alpha Damage followed up with Fast Rear Armor damage can potentially shred a tank into pieces. This is where using the advice of "Aim for the Rear" is valid - Armor on vehicles are strongest at the front, weakest at the rear, and in the middle on the sides.

Racer doesn't improve max speed or turbo but it does help newer drivers who struggle to manage turbo and maintain top speed. Scrapper is able to move forward the same speed as Racer, but with better reverse, braking, turning, and traction which all allow for more complex maneuvers and driving that isn't otherwise possible. Halberd is strong against Heavy Armor, good against infantry and harassers, scales well with numbers, and is easy to use and drive for which makes it effective in most situations and a great choice for players of all skill levels. Vulcan and Aphelion are significantly harder to drive for, and require much more gunner discipline and technical skill to use, but they can be far more deadly choices for total KPM since they are able to quickly kill infantry and dominate in harasser-vs-harasser. Vulcan and Aphelion lack in Heavy Armor damage, which is a significant drawback, however this weakness can be overcome by good Driver or Gunner C4 skill.

Correction @ 3:28: Left and middle video should be swapped. The diagrams are still correct they are just above the wrong video. Middle video shows the slow turning of not using a handbrake when that should be on the left. My OCD just got majorly triggered 🤣

Don't forget your gunner must be someone you trust and know how you play or else he's just gonna shoot at every little thing like the vulcan against infantry 100m away. This was my case so I had to stop using the harasser :(

The trick to working close-range anti-vehicle with randos is to use the horn. /tell them that you're using stealth and that they should hold their fire until you honk your horn. You can even have a message like that copied so you can just paste it for every new gunner that jumps in!

Wow this is good, and diagrams, whaaat, you need more subs. Yeah handbrake is fantastic for everything from tanks to sundys, I was so glad to find it in the keybindings. I get owned by harassers all the time and I think it might be the time to spend some certs on making gunner friends

Anything with high relative inertia and handbrake becomes invaluable, even gal sliding on the ground lol. If you are looking for gunners, every other Thursday on Emerald VS I lead harasser platoons open to the public, just look for our outfit tag VKTZ. Loads of fun on Oshur last night.

Yeah I've been a fan of switching things up with a bulldog these days. I still usually prefer Halberd cuz u can choose to vary engagement range.

No more halberd. Please no more. Its been the AV meta as long as i can remember now, you dont see tank or harasser drivers taking anything else unless they need AA or smth. I urge anyone to just use the faction specific weapons instead, spice the game up a bit since the halberd is just the betelgeuse of the vehicle world, utterly stronger than the rest and sort of the opposite of exciting gameplay

Especially considering how few viable harasser loadouts there actually are, if youre not using fire suppression, stealth or composite armour, youre actively inting. So pretty much the only choice you get is what chassis you want, which is dictated by the continent youre on mostly. Kinda sad that the harasser (or vehicle in general) meta is so rigid me thinks

I think Vulcan gets a ton of love but I get the gist here. Ultimately with harassers being 300 nanites and backseat reps being removed, the ball is in the dev's court on changing the meta.

@@ApolloPS2 I do like the Vulcan aswell, but its just not very smart to choose it over the halberd as the halberd has no damage drop off, insane accuracy and velocity so that you can climb some hill as a harasser and start sniping from there without losing any damage. It becomes entirely about how good the gunner is at point and click at that point, meanwhile using the Vulcan youre gonna be in spitting distance against tanks, which will very soon lead to you exploding since you cant dodge enemy shells as easily.

@GoodmemeJones yeah it depends on ur playstyle. Vulcan applied to this playstyle is better for u and ur crew than Halberd unless u have a pretty good gunner (which is a basis I want to teach to) since the Vulcan is just a click and hold adventure for the gunner lol

@@ApolloPS2 I mean sure, if youre a godlike driver the vulcan will do work aswell, but what i meant is that the halberds playstyle (from afar) with its insane accuracy just makes for a much more viable harasser as its soooo much safer to play. the closer you come to enemy vehicles as a harasser, the sooner youre gonna die, as your way of staying alive is dodging fire instead of tanking it, like the vanguard perhaps. Halberd just offers the most reward while taking the lowest risk

I've been trying to play this game on ps4 but everytime I try to join a continent it says server disconnected. I can see the continent change and everything and can see other players, can buy stuff and change weapons and classes but can't play the actual game. Anyone know the fix?

Slightly confused why the Racer chassi is being recommended when its by far the most useless one of them all? The only thing Racer gives you is higher normal speed and faster acceleration, it does absolutely nothing for your MAX speed which all Harassers can easily reach with the boost and just as was mentioned in the video the Harasser maintains its speed very well = all chassis can drive at or near top speed an equal amount of time. Better acceleration, heard of boosting? Who does not use boost to quickly accelerate away when they need to? All the perks of Racer chassi is without exaggerating, given for free to all other chassis if you use the boost, as you should be doing even with a Racer since it does not reach the speed limit without boosting either. Racer chassi is pretty much a newbie trap. "Go fast is good!" for sure but the other chassis drives just as fast as a Racer chassi when both are going ~124kph after boosting. Daredevil being the chassi that can more easily break that 124kph speed limit as its not limited in the air on top of its anti-flip ability + able to tilt to give a gunner a shot at a target below you when you jump etc makes it imo the 'best' chassi.

Thanks for the thoughts. Racer is recommended as an addition to daredevil in this video because we r focusing on what's best when facing armor head on. This is after you've ran around with stealth (literally or figuratively based on preference) and plinking away from afar where things like scrapper help but aren't necessary imo. There's a or multiple MBT(s) barreling toward you. Sure you have turbo and believe me you are going to short burst that puppy any chance you get, but that high acceleration is critical even when using turbo. Why? To throw off ap rounds from actually hitting u (with the help of some good old fashion lag). As you can imagine, using daredevil and going off of small jumps is even more advantageous, especially when combined with drifting, hence why I use it when I trust my gunner, but I wasn't just going to give an A7-bound recommendation for the general player. That all isn't to say that scrapper isn't a fine chassis, but I firmly believe acceleration is quite important in scenarios where you might actually die driving a harasser since turbo is a finite resource. Yes many other great drivers will scoff at that but that's because they play passively enough and choose their battles so conservatively (perhaps a more boring video haha) whereas when I tend to pull it's for a strategic threat that MUST get taken out for low nanites or as part of a team effort where the aggression can be higher.

I'll have to look into this. I was in a harasser outfit when the vehicle came out on a separate character 10 years ago, and nearly my entire actual harasser aurax is from soloing. It's a question of is it a playstyle worth promoting because it's quite unforgiving. It would focus on putting urself in good line of sight without being the main target once found out, allowing for time for a wounded target to get behind cover so u can finish them off, in addition to honing ur ability to run away from those that try to give chase.

Excuse me, one button shoot, and only driving for the other guy, and you have to wash your car every 30 seconds... You have to be a complete idiot to think this is a fun and important part of planetside. An infantry player has 3 weapons if not 4 like assaults... And lots of gadgets and customisation involving a great number of vianle convinations...
