You might not see any evidence of this until the actual lockdown (such as with seeing the carriers after lockdown with the other continents), but hopefully they could incorporate some more depth to it.

In my humble opinion : huge choke point fights with hundreds of players still exist. Coordinated squad pushing against coordinated defending squads still exists. Alert rushing in huge groups still exists. And that's what the game is all about. Besides, they're still releasing relevant updates and making new content (unlike in a certain period of the game's lifetime where there was nothing relevant). This game is not dead, and one day I believe it will rise again.

To the old time veterans who still play the game it isnt dead. But to a new player it might as well be because the new player experience is complete shite. Every update released only caters to the veterans and continues to deter potential new players on account of the insanely steep learning curve and grind to make even a few certs. It'd be nice if they worked on the new player experience instead of the lame excuse of a tutorial they have before throwing them to the wolves. Sure, koltyr is the "new player continent" but does nothing to teach them how things ACTUALLY go once they leave and go to say Indar or Amerish. Completely different experience.

Yes, planetside 1 had no competition. The servers stayed up for overa decade and only went down around the time the sequel came out. Yes, if they make Planetside 3 then likely Planetside 2 will die off, and itll certainly have competition. I have only used unreal engine 4 but i am sure any 3d game engine can do water, it just might not be as performant (same with weather effects) and most tunnels are made in such a way because almost every game ever uses tunnels like that, because the way that most games have their maps made is by using a 2d texture where the colour determines the height of areas so having depth sideways for tunnels is impossible a different way, otherwise it would be harder to create and map performance would be worse. Also the player side hitbox file is not encrypted so I dont think there are that many people hacking using it.

If you want to make air travel between islands a bigger deal you need to look back closer at PS1 for ways to make that work better. -Dial back redeployside a bit. Make people need to work together at least a little bit to get around sometimes. PS1 at release took this to the opposite extreme in a bad way (15 minute HART and no broadcast warpgates hahahahaha) but there's lessons to be learned there. PS1 beta had SO much more ad-hoc teamwork because you HAD to make friends and organize or you'd have a tough time getting from point A to point B. -Amphibious vehicles existed in PS1 in the Deliverer (a smaller APC) and its later empire-specific variants. Vanu hover vehicles also could go over water which was a big advantage for them in bridge fights. The ANT in PS2 has a similar battle role to the Deliverer, it would be a little silly to make it amphibious as-is but consider that utility niche. -Bring back the Lodestar and possibly the light vehicle transport capability of the Galaxy. -You mention Cyssor as inspiration -- some of the craziest fights on Cyssor were bridge battles, especially around the river-island that was Gunuku. The bridges themselves in PS1 were awful and deserve to burn in hell, but think about that plays today in bridge-over-ravine areas on Indar and see what makes sense.

Will the magrider finaly be able to hover over water? Back in planetside 1 the main point of the magrider was to be able to cross river without having to deal with bridges. In planetside 2 there's almost no water and the few water body you can find where hovering above it would be nice like the poison water stuff on hossin well it just doesn't work.

why cant there be infantry maps. What they did with hossin was just dumb, but thats cause they fucked up. They can easily make an infantry map where vehicles still work but arent used to dominate areas with vehicle zergs. And thats what we need, and it doesnt have to be a whole continent like hossin (which is where they fucked up) it only needs to be certain parts of the map that are anti vehicle while remaining other open areas for full scale zergs to fight

Finally, you guys don't know how long I've been waiting for this, so excited! I love the idea of having some prop dense terrain for footzergs, while keeping some open plains nearby for vehicles. I know I'm asking even more work from you guys, but would it be possible to introduce hovercrafts and/or boats to have fights on water to cross the islands? Also wondering if it would be possible to introduce bridges to the construction system, so players can cross islands that are close together and even assemble multiple bridges to cross to more distant islands? Omg a new continent? Guys this is awesome been wanting a more island based map for ages. Still favorite game since it was in closed beta and i was trying to run this on an amd phenom II x4 965 cpu with 2gbs of ram. This games the reason i upgraded it to 8gb ram my main games was battlefield 2, tdu2 + cod all the oldie potato games. This games still fun to play now i just play other games also so it gets less attention but some days i'll just play it all day and forget other games exist lol. I think you guys shold launch an event that lasts for like 1 week or something. massive wars will emerge between fractions and fractions can actually conquer a full continent without an event , and even break into the HQ , then no one else exept the winning continent can spawn there, and the fraction that has the most continents wins the event , thus planetside3 . For exemple vanu wins (hopefully :P ) , in planteside3 the vanu players would control auraxis while the others work in the shadows after their defeat trying to reclamin their glory. And so everyone doesn't go joining the winning fraction , you have to stay in the one you chose during the event and you annot create new characters for like a few weeks. What do you think?

I just started playing Planetside 2, and I can honestly say it's the greatest FPS I've ever played. The scale... my god... approaching a base riding shotgun in a buggy, with tanks/sunderers/atvs surrounding you and literally dozens of aircraft flying overhead; I've never experienced anything like it. Going from 6v6/12v12 on claustrophobic maps to 100v100 on CONTINENTS... If you've never played PS; try it. It's AMAZING. A magma-centric area with dynamic environmental hazards and VR implementation would put planetside 3 on the immersion level of ReadyPlayerOne's epic battlefield scenario.

What would be cool is if the fleet carriers slowly moved towards the enemies carrier as the faction gains territory and once the enemy is on their last territories the carriers will fight each other and possibly stop the ability to spawn in the disabled carrier

Man I loved playing this game, probably will re download when this gets released. One wish the game has are actual rare resources that factions could fight over, having to protect and transport an ANT back to a certain type of base in order to successfully gather it, could create some pretty intense scenarios. maybe the resources could have deadly advantages like creating a very difficult to assemble mega tank or behemoth robot (no not BFRS) that takes a multiple people to cooperate and man, or a giant nuke which kills everyone and essentially continent locks it for the faction and takes a certain amount of time to go off while other factions could desperately try and dissarm it in time. So many possibilities that go beyond simply taking over bases which would make this game 20x more fun.

To make it happen, It would be a lot different than the three factions: not high fire rate, not strength or high velocity, not even lazers (and no bullet drop). Also, it needs a unique name

4th faction is probably Nanite Systems, a company who declared neutrality during the beginning of the war. They are now scientists from each of the three groups, which is why we're evenly balanced in tech and why our civilians have a relatively easy life. Each group has a third of the dividend stock which is why we all get paid a max of 200/day even if we do nothing, and a third of the vote stock, with final tie-breaker vote stock held by the top NS leader. They silently watch us, modifying everything we use in subtle ways. They support us all, and no one knows why. Oshur, islands that can't be cloaked, and yet only now we can visit. What I love about Oshur is it has lore we will have a purpose to be fighting over these collection of islands the use of bastion fleet carriers opens up so many possibilities I'm dead excited for this and hope it brings a lot of new players. Ths launch of this MUST also include better player on boarding and quality of life fixes for new players

Agreed. I'm one of them - love this game for the sheer level of combat chaos it provides. I've only just scraped enough certs for an Eidolon battle-rifle and I'm regularly getting my arse handed to me by just about every other OP player from a mile away but it matters not - so, SO good when you DO get the drop on someone and nix them before they get a chance. And I could listen to the doppling of a fleet of Scythe engines screaming overhead all day... 👌👌👌🤩🤩🤩🎮🎮💣💣

The game on ps4 is bad as it is over 2 hours of gameplay and the game crashes its not the devs fault its just the ps4 cant handle it and where there are massive zergs like say the crown the fps will drop down around 20

Literally released a patch focused on performance years ago. Its why if you look at graphics from launch compared to now, everything looks worse. Still great game.

I disagree, performance is pretty good considering how many players they have in any one space at any one time, game runs find on well old hardware. What game are you even comparing it to in terms of perf ? Probably not an MMOFPS.
