Eh...I wouldn't say supported nonstop or even under-rated, when they say return to glory, they really, really mean it as the game had seriously fallen into an extremely pitiful and frustrating state to the point that many long time players were fed up, and others were screaming at DBG to sell the franchise to someone who could actually show it love and justice rather than the extreme neglect it got. When someone says "Planetside 2? Isn't that game dead?" they wouldn't have been wrong a mere 7-8 months ago, and at that point death would have been a mercy.

I remember the first time I was playing PlanetSide 2 and it was struck in awe as I watched the minimap and saw a huge line of tanks ,maybe 50 of them as we marched to the next base . It was after 2 hours of fighting over a huge base. All we got was a 15 min downtime before we started moving. I still remember the moment when we arrived at the next base only to be met with about 200 enemy players armed to the teeth . It was in 2013 and it was awesome!

I felt that awe a few years ago when I had the same setup except there weren't as many enemies armed to the teeth, well, they were assaulting a big base nearby where I relocated from because it was just chock full of vehicles and the outside were like an artillery barrage of those NC osprey things and many tanks converging just shooting wantonly, while their light assaults scale the walls to destroy the generators, I assume they defeated that if I'm correct because the convoy came from that base I'm sure. It was the first time I was shocked and awed man just a convoy of tanks sunderers and whatnot demolishing the closest enemy base where I was fighting, I joined them but there wasn't even much to do except take a picnic maybe and what's more was that I had finally witnessed a Bastion. They really are that big... The poor bastards in that one base we thoroughly demolished with a ring of tanks barraging it from the sides while the Bastion shoots down from above, they couldn't get anything out and I just see them squirming around through the openings.

And need like cortium to rebuild them, or something like that.

GodMode you are right yes they are roughly The same genre (FPS shooter) but what I mean is that BF is meant to be a more realistic representation of modern day combat than Planetside. Compared to planetsides more sci-fi setting. And of course the scale of the play. Planetsides map are much larger than the ones that are present on any BF with the largest coming only at most probably a seventh the size. Add in that planetside also has hundreds or thousands on one continent at a time then it gets even more ridiculous. The largest BF server on the other hand is at most 128 I think. If not 64. Just this fact alone makes these two games something that cannot be compared to each other.

They made the CPU render the shadows instead of the GPU so that's why this game is very cpu intensive, I recommend getting a CPU upgrade if you are playing on pc. but rn im also currently saving up for a gaming pc so i know how hard it is to simply just save up for something lmao.

I left a while back when it was taken over by Daybreak studios. Now Rogue has it and they're making amazing updates. I logged back in and the game is outstanding - incomparable to anything else. Huge columns of tanks, massive dogfights of planes, 100 vs 100 for a single piece of dried desert is just so damn fun. Now you can just build your own bases too!

Peoples are wondering why returning to this game or why continuing to play this game? Well... only for the intense fight it's worth it! lol. you can fight for 1 hours at the SAME PLACE!!! 100vs100 for 1h.. you have something to get wet. Dying is not really a problem since you can easily get revived and if not, it's not a problem, you spawn back and continue! There is no penality.. no repair cost, nothing to lose! When you fight in a 100+ vs 100+ vs 100+ you will never see something that epic on Battlefield for exemple.. yea they have destructible buildings, but are still limited to 32vs32, while planetside it's 300+ players at the same spot, at the same time! i let you know how epic it become! Soldier, Tanks, Fighters.. it's the war everywhere lol. Sometime someone will call an Orbital Strike and it's a Joy! The grind is not that much cancer compared to other game like Heroes and Generals... in Planetside 2 you earn easily the points you need to buy new equipements or weapons! It's not like you have to farm for 120h only to buy 1 new weapon.. it's more like, 1h per day of gaming, and in a week you have a new weapon! it's pretty fast.

The fact that this game is free, can have massive battles of thousands of players, is a open world war game with a crap ton different vehicles, aircraft, and even a MASSIVE SHIP OF ABSOLUTE DESTRUCTION and has amazing graphics really pisses me off that it's not on the goddamn xbox

Hands down, the best FPS game experience I've ever had! The insane battles, the great friends i made along the way, the memorable moments I've had. It sucks that i can never relive those memories again. Been years since I've played this. I really hope they make a 3rd instalment to this amazing series.
