I wish I had heard this thirty years ago. This is exactly what we should be teaching everyone. I wasted so many years of my life trying to impress others, spending money I didn't have, and trying to be somebody I wasn't, and all it brought me was misery and stress. Now I live a frugal life, saving money, doing the work I actually want to do and living the life I actually want to live - and I've never been happier. I hope your New Year is absolutely wonderful.

I couldn't agree more! I am a Christian and I hate Christmas!! For me, everyday is Christmas, so why all the fuss in December? A fuss that starts for many in October! Makes no sense to me. Once again, a lovely video. Love your independent spirit! All the best from California:)

The biggest scourge in todays society is people not taking responsibility for there actions it's always someone else's fault its why I'm currently looking to change my job as i deal with such people who get into debt ect I want out so working on that one. people are reckless, you are an inspiration. have to Say don't find much joy in Christmas now far too much commercialised

Although I was limited (due to family commitments...my Dad died young and Mum was disabled, so I took on caring for her as well as working full time for 28 years) I have definitely never been a "sheep"! Since being on my own, I have definitely made up my mind about what I do, where I go and who I spend time with. Maybe the way my life was in earlier years made me more thankful for the opportunity to live my life as I want to now. You go girl!!!!!

I admire you so much for being your own person and not just being a sheep. I too worked from age 13 and also had a job at 11 looking after 5 children overnight while their mother worked shifts. I'm not a massive fan of Christmas I think it's just an excuse for company's to get money, we can celebrate Jesus in different ways. I always tell people if they are going to get me something get me something I need,my dad always gets me these 20kg rabbit food bags for Christmas as I run my own rescue and it helps lots and my mum gets me washing up liquid shampoos, conditioners, hay ect And my in laws get me and my partner a shop which fills our frige, our freezer and our cuboard which for us lasts for ages as we portion control everything.

I think home schooling can work very well if it's done by responsible and caring parents. I didn't like school very much. I learnt a lot from my mother. She was a good common sense woman.

@@meanqueensuperscrimper8908 thank you for your reply. Both my husband and I shared the Home Schooling. I wasn’t working at the time and my husband was self employed so it worked well. We live on a farm and the boys have gone into that line of work. Our eldest is doing an apprenticeship in Agricultural Engineering and our youngest is doing one in Dairy and Crop Management.

I think wisdom comes with age. When I was younger I thought I might get married, as time went on and I didn't find the right person I realized that I could have a good life as a singleton. Please don't wish your life away, this is the only chance you will get. I see things in black and white, either/or. I chose to make choices about my life and not to drift into situations.
