Let's play! Trash, Maintenance, Farming Updates, Research, QOL Features...there is so much new stuff...I hope I can cover everything and make this the longest, and hardest series yet! Maybe I can even beat the game for once.

I have approximately this exact setup and quickly got in to the problem that metal scrap and aluminium seperation is to slow so everything ended up held up by the slowest building (aluminium). You need 4 aluminium seperation for one general seperation i think. And there is just no way to connect that up with the factory connections. In the end i just let general seperation do all the work and cut out the two first buildings.

I managed to get all connected to a single rail dump, but it was a hellish job, and forget direct scrap connections. Still there's a bit of bottleneck (two scrap recycler chains in parallel which converge into a general separation), being the 2 scrap chains combined able to process a total of 60 (like the powerplant incinerator), but the general one processing 50. However it seems to work pretty well, 100% ash and no overflow... yet :D

I have a checklist sitting on my desk for what needs the republic has. Going through the list and disregarding the ones I don't need in a place costs me a few seconds every now and then, but it's a small price to pay for not missing stuff like garbage collection.

Why would you miss garbage collection? I plan for it by not packing my buildings together too tight...

I would still go the electricity route... It is not reliable, but it decreases imports and slightly increases export of electricity... Might not be much, but it is better than just burn that money! Heating wouldn't touch it tho, that can actually freeze citizens.

Like others have said, there's not enough plastic waste. I just put a truck on wait until loaded. With about the pop you have, it makes like 2 deliveries per year and just sits there waiting to be loaded the rest of the time.

If you're having two dedicated meat trucks anyway, just make one go to the shop and the other to the prison, and have them wait until unloaded.

The problem is the driving in between, not the amount of trucks used....I need a truck to be almost at the shop when it's about to run out of meat...with a single truck that is already not possible, so reducing the number of trucks for each building is not going to solve that...I need to increase the frequency, not the capacity

...at which point adding a second truck will block the delivery of non-meat products. I've started building 'service zones' just outside each of my cities, where I have (mechanism) COs, DOs, warehouses, waste transfers etc. We'll see how it pans out.

For meat, I'd highly recommend adding a meat storage to the large shopping center. All other goods have sufficient space, but if you are just a little too far away, you'll run into issues. For the smaller centers a cargo station where you can have 2 trucks wait until unloaded for meat can also work, but I also like the dedicated DOs really close by...so many options and problems that come with each of them :)

@@bballjo Big truck with wait untill unloaded should do its job - it leaves by the time there is still about 3t of meat and should come back beforehand (if it is not stuck on customs). Another option is what I use is small DO for meat only with those 4,5t Zil trucks. About 2-3 of them depending on number of shops and hotels you have and they are perfect for delivering. I set them up to go with 50% remaining and never ran into an issue. The third option I tend to mix in is a restaurant/bufee on the outskirts (like a "radio bistro" you could do next to the station) and there is just meat+food. It really nicely disperses needs for meet between buildings and restaurants especially have quite good meat storages, so even less problems with DOs.

A better option for Dry Bulk is the storage with rail connection.

Wow such a huge silo and 8900 tons of mixed waste is there - is that the all the crops burned into waste? :D That will take like hour to move everything :D btw I would like to ask you about covered hauls at farm. Is there a way how to use covered hauls all year? I have them in farm and it means they basically dont work for 9 months and for 3 months they deliver like crazy from fields to farm. I thought about distribution office, but I'm not so sure about it/setup. In other words I would like to use my machinery as much as possible - not having them 9 months inactive because they are sitting in farm garage. It is not that problematic when you have more money income than outcome but I've wondered about this. Thanks :)

Of course you can micro your trucks, just move them between places of needs, or setup your DOs so that you have fields and other interests assigned at the same time, which means more DOs and trucks. In short, the game doesn't have a mechanic to do that easily or efficiently...you can rely heavily on micro, but once you are out of city 1, that's not going to be worth your time, and trucks are really not that expensive to have farms keep a few of them idle at times.

Let's call the mostly-idleness a feature - it's a place to stick your older, hard-to-repair trucks so they don't get too much wear before they can be scheduled for another repair.

If you place two small DO's with the farm, you can use half the 20 max tasks for the fields, and the other for local delivery tasks. If you put a tanker in one and, a waste truck in the other, you can keep the farm supplied with both types of fertilizer/fuel, as well as gather crops from the fields with the covered hulls.

Asphalt roads will help fire engines get there quicker, which means the time the fire has to wear&tear the building apart will be smaller.

Like others said open storage for plastics but I would not even do that. Just chain the General separation into plastics recycling. You are producing so very little plastic waste anyway.

@bballjo well, you have mayak in Russia (as far as i know 😅), and France has some too. Maybe USA 🤔 ? But yeah, there are some places, and technically, with the proper setup, you could reduce the amount of "unusable" material to 3% of the inputs equivalent. Sure, nobody has that setup, but i think France has the best quota.

@gian142 OK, there is the proliferation problem, but you already have that problem running npp's (enriching Uranium 235) plutonium is also fissible, so why not burn it in a plant?

As long as I've been with my city 8000+ citizens hasn't been a single ton of aluminum scrap, so maybe only aircraft related industries generate aluminum waste, but i also don't have bauxite running right now

I think this game lacks message filters and todo "notes + camport". Just to keep an eye on points of interest. I can't understand this hate to slow down game speed to solve all urgent and critical issues and then plan in calmness. As it said: "If you run for 2 hares - you'd gain no one". Yes, it's slows down years but less issues - faster process. 12 concrete trucks agrees with that.

Howzit Bballjo, i have 2 questions. Still figuring out all the waiste buildings etc. 1. Is it worth treating Hazardous waiste before seperating the waiste? 2. Is it worth setting up all those different seperation buildings? (Might get the answer in the next episode, just unsure on how these work)

So...if you treat hazardous waste you save plastic waste, but you spent chemicals, so its probably not worth it. Is it worth setting all of them up? The biggest issue with waste is that if you try to export everything, it's super cheap to give it to the neighbors, but it's super high volume, which means you will overload your customs if you do export them...so to avoid that it's worth to st a min have a general separation and an incinerator ready to go, the others are more optional.

How long does it take to maintain a vehicle? A status indicator like, for example: the buildings are being built indicator.

Around the 40 minute mark; why are your cement trucks exiting the loading station and then turning around to go back to it? Not much can get built with this behavior.

I noticed one episode ended at 4800 and the next episode went from 7000 to 9000. The following video was a 4800 again

Now I see - yes, you'll have to redesign that setup a bit to burn the waste first, otherwise hazard waste doesn't work. If you want to recycle the metals, you can transport the scraps per dumper truck to the recycling plants. It's not that much volume and there's no reason to build the recycling very far away. Only if you want to export the scraps, you should plan for trains. I don't understand why you need two storages for construction waste. You need one to collect the output of the separation plant, train unloading and as unloading point for nearby technical services. But why a second one?

My problem with this game is, that I can spend countless hours to build and perfect industries, but I hate build cities. Industries are beautiful and cities are just ugly for me....

Well, make ugly the theme? Each city just gets a dozen of the largest residential areas as close as possible, with some amenities around it, simple road and a wall, and then off to the industry?
