I like it. Although I'm not a tech diver I've always been interested in the planning and deco limits involved. Well done!

Thanks John. That's the part of it I enjoy the most. Of course the giddy excitement of going beyond the limit still gets me too. I just don't get to do it enough...

Really grateful for this video giving us mortals an insight into the deeper levels of diving . Thank you for the courage to do this not many others do. Keep up the good work

Thanks for the feedback David. We're hoping to be able to go back to Isle du Rhonde again next weekend, if the weather permits, and do another decompression dive there too with Dean. His first one to 45m. We shall of course film this if we managed to go too....

going beyond NDL on either Rebreathers or tech diving is still recreational, meaning its done for fun, not to perform work or using tools and its commonly taught by recreational training agencies.

Hey Roberto, whilst we might do the activity for fun or recreationally, we accept that there is a difference between diving within 'Recreational Dive Limits' and moving into 'technical diving'. The key things considered with recreational dive limits is depth (for most of the major training agencies the limit is 40m) and not to exceed your NDL. The risks associated with diving deeper mean we should be planning for additional contingency, and this is where the more technical understanding of diving comes in. As we've said in the video - decompression should be a planned event. The courses that are taught are not taught by any training agencies. The certifications are given through the mainstream agencies, but people are taught by qualified technical dive instructors. A newly qualified OSWI will typically not have the knowledge, skillset or experience to be able to teach even an entry level technical course.

I learned this in open water they set my computer to simulate and if it cuts off you did it wrong and failed the class ..deco stops don't bother me ..now I just bought my first 02optima ready to start my ccr classes

There are, unfortunately, many divers whose confidence exceeds their competence, and their belief exceeds their knowledge. Being prepared to learn more and study is so valuable to each and every diver and so important to all of us. Enjoy your CCR training, and welcome to the next new world to explore

@@adhamhwomble8345 Don't forget that when you start CCR you'll typically only dive to recreational depths. Get your hours and experience up. Then think about getting into tec. It's important to practice the motor skills and bail out drills. Make sure you're really comfortable with them before heading down. Personally, I don't go much below 200ft, but typically dive in the 80-100ft (or shallower) range to see the most wildlife, but can do a 2.5 hour dive....

i plan on searching bottom of a 13 to 19 foot deep lake for lost item using a tankless system... maybe come to surface ever 3- 4 mins ...what decompression procedures if any will i need to do... i know about breathing calmly andand slow accent and decent already..thax so much

If you're breathing surface supplied air, it will depend on the pressure it is being supplied to you at. As this will determine how much additional nitrogen you're absorbing. However, at the depths you're planning to go to, it will be HOURS of bottom time before you have an issue... Try to avoid too many trips to the surface though.
