Thanks for addressing and clarifying your understanding about this. You mentioned you have Te POLR, so it clicks. It reminded me of the time when I was trying to understand Si as a Si POLR (I'm an ENTJ). For the longest time, I kept mixing it up with Ti in terms of understanding it. I finally figured out (or so I hope) that the mysterious Si (to me) is having the sensory memory/ data to build a prefered sesory roadmap/ pathway to follow/ see unfold/ achieve. At least that's the way I understand it. Another thing that helped me understand it is drawing the paralles with how I experience Ni. I understand it to be very similar, only difference is the data Ni uses is based on ideas, possibilities and visions. The similarity is that it sees and build up a pathway/ direction/ roadmap for Te to follow. When my awareness for my lacking in Si highthened, I started to be more cautious with my Se, knowing that I cannot fully trust it because its not anchored in Si data, rendering it unreliable a lot of times. Coming back to your car fixing analogy, I'm not hands on in the sense of getting my hands dirty, I'm more like snooping around and making sure the mechanic is aware that I'm involved in the process to make sure he puts his best foot forward for the job. I willl also keep questioning why this and that, not so that I can store the data in Ti or Si database, but more to assert my control over the situation to ensure best outcome for me (not for them, which I believe it tends to be if you take it easy and entrust them). Sometimes I annoyed the heck out of them esp. when they are more the F type. My Si POLR creaeted many 'Tsunamis' in my life, and that 'forced' me to want to understand and not ignore it. Now I track a lot of my daily activities and live conditions in several excel tracking sheets so I can refer back when I need the memory. Its not perfect but its enough to keep me on my toe to not be so neglectful. Still, my mastery over it is very 'survival mode' and simpltic, far from sophisticate, but I'm happy I have a small window now through I can have a glimsp of it. Took me like 10 years to figure this out.

I like your detailed distinction between planning and doing. A real life example I'm encountering on this front is writing a thesis: my way of tackling this difficult task is to over plan to the point that I'm planning how to configure my outline, then I use that to do an outline, then I fill the outline out with as many pertinent details as possible, also that when I actually have to sit down and write the paper it sort of writes itself. The Se way or strategy of just jumping in and start writing then edit later makes the task overly tedious and difficult if not impossible for me.

Insightful video; along these lines, I just finished my first performance review at a new job and I got high marks across the board except for one peculiar item: I never ask for help. I'd rather do an hour of research than ask someone to show me how to do it (ISTJ).
