You and Ally sounded like my mom and me when we were organizing my pens and markers! I kept separating the special ones too! My mom calls the paper mate flair pens the X pens because of the X on the top! I enjoyed this video! Can’t wait to see the whole craft room tour!

These days FIVE BELOW has been a lifesaver for art supplies especially markers of all sorts. Ikea has some decent prices on markers too but not as wide an assortment.

I love the deflect-o brand for storing masses of pens, pencils, markers. But I used them at work where I bought office supplies for our entire 3-story building! They work especially well for all the pens/markers that work best when stored horizontally.

I actually really like it! I filmed this a few weeks ago and it's working out great for me. It's not at an angle, although maybe I could put something small underneath to angle it up a little. It doesn't bother me though and the pens don't slide out or anything.

For stick pens/pencils, there is no problem storing them flat. For pens with caps that are thicker on one end, you can overcome the problem of the pens falling out by inserting the narrow end into the container. The natural tendency is for them to slide downhill. So think of the thin end of the pen as downhill and the fat/cap end of the pen as uphill. Fat end out means the pens want to move into the back of the box. Nothing tries to slide out.

Thank you for this. The negative for me is stacking them horizontally and would be away from my work area. The big positive is I would not be using up a whole vertical organization cart with drawers. The possibilities... :)

Well now I store them sideways. But the black pens I store tip up. Not sure it makes any difference.

It depends on the pen. Some pens you don’t want to store tip down like a fountain pen or paint pen. Some do better. Most are indifferent.

Yeah, I bailed. It really bothered me that daughter was clearly not listening, and just busted in. Then, right after saying how these are the pens she uses most often, daughter is just demanding to take them. I dunno, maybe I was raised to respect my mom and her hobbies, it just felt really, really disrespectful, especially since it happens ALL. THE. TIME. on this channel. I've unsubbed as a result.
