You are so right about needing to think about health and a lifestyle instead of something being a diet. I have also had hard psychological times through yo yo dieting. It makes me nervous to go WFPB SOS free.. I’m convinced it is the right way to eat and it fits with my personal ethics. I’m nervous though because I have disordered eating and negative self image when I try to change my eating due to previous experiences. I’m watching a lot of your videos and trying to find a way to get in the right headspace to change my lifestyle. Thank you for all of your resources on KZbin and your blog. I’ll get there!

Thanks so much for all you do. Great team effort and so very informative. This was very helpful. I’ve been plant-based for six months and am getting anxious at weight creep. I’ve gained 3 lbs over that time, and while minimal, I couldn’t figure out how this could be the case. I’ll be getting Chef AJs book. Have been watching a lot of her videos lately, and I LOVE her food/cooking knowledge as well as her personal experience with weight fluctuations. I will be rewatching your salad prep video now that I’m ready for it!

Nutmeg Notebook I’m super excited. I lost a lot of weight going WFPB, but this year menopause reared it’s ugly head and some weight crept back on. I feel like you are extremely talented in explaining everything in a cohesive manner. My guess is you were probably an educator at one point and time. You are better than some of the plant based influencers in making things easy to follow!

I went WFPB a little over a year ago. I cut out all dairy. I have seen an incredible improvement in my sinuses! I have always had a hard time breathing through both nostrils at the same time, one side was usually completely blocked from getting air and often the other side was only slightly able to take air in. I was a very shallow breather. Also, my nose ran constantly and I usually had post nasal drip going on. It took about a year but I finally noticed that I can usually breathe well through both nostrils! I do have a deviated septum so I may not be 100% in the amount of air intake that others naturally have but the change is amazing!

Watching Chef AJ calorie density was such an eye opener. Much of my way of eating was how this is healthy to eat but never thinking of the caloric density. We are not taught that in any school. Today they push commercials to get negative points across and people buy into. Everyday I am still learning. Tami thank you for this great information.

I made oat groats today using your method, and they came out exactly the way I wanted them. Prior to that, I had tested 3 other methods in the Instant Pot which did not come out good. They were not as soft as I wanted them to be by those other methods. Still edible though.

@Leese P, I had been experiencing worsening arthritic pain in my hands & chronic inflammation in my feet that was pretty debilitating (plantar fasciitis & heel spurs). I had been vegetarian for a number of years, but once I gave up dairy & eggs and increased my vegetable intake the arthritis went completely away & my feet are a good 90% better. I work standing on concrete for 8 hours a day & find my feet are tired at the end of the day, but I no longer have crippling pain. Give this eating style a solid try. You have nothing to lose and maybe everything to gain!

Regarding the question about gall bladder disease and rapid wt loss. When in nursing school studying gall bladder disease they taught the 4 F’s: Fair, Fat, Forty and Female. Well..... I’m a male lost 50lbs quickly and had a gall bladder attack with elevated liver and pancreatic enzymes with a subsequent cholecystectomy. In my reading, I found a fifth reason for gall bladder issues.... rapid wt loss. It’s rare. And honestly probably wouldn’t have done my wt lose without changing a thing. It’s rare, and I wouldn’t necessarily be overly concerned about it. As a matter of fact, I’m the only one that I’ve heard it ever happen to.

i am 67, went thru menopause early, age 38, like my mom did. I went WF/PB , SOS free, 21 months ago. To date lost 79 lbs, but about a yr into it, my hot flashes came back, fast & furious !! I have low thyroid, and thought it of changed, and might be the cause, I asked my dr., he said" Because u are losing the fat, your body is making estrogen again" !! And it is affecting my sleep, worse insomnia than ever !! lucky to sleep an hr. in between them :(( But, on the other hand, all my other health problems have improved, off 5 of 6 meds, no more pre diabeties, no more chronic fatigue, no more fibro pain 24/7, no more cane, the list goes on, BP of 40 yr old woman !! I am so enjoying my new healthy self, and so is my hubby !! Love the food, craving veg and fruit instead of pizza, ice cream, party mix, pasta, etc...

I started menopause 6 1/2 years ago at age 49 when I was WFPB. I joined Chef AJ's program almost 5 years ago. I haven't had any menopausal symptoms to speak of except for a few very mild barely noticeable hot flashes at the beginning but that was it. I've been symptom-free since then.

The word "diet" can refer to a change in eating habits and is also used when referring to the eating habits of an individual or a population. It really isn't a reference to a change in eating habits for a period of time only and then a reversion back to one's former diet or eating habits.
