Very good video. I've found the stems and broad leaves and hoping to watch them next spring. They plants are very thick and full.

We had one bloom. We live in a very woody area. Them bloom shot up by itself. It popped up through leaves so I never saw a plant. It was absolutely beautiful and a pleasant fine after the winter months of cold.

Great info and pics! According to calflora.org we don't have any Iris cristata here in CA, but we do have several other species of iris.

Possibly my favourite plant and flower, other than my French roses (Catherine Deneuve and Cannes Festival) but the dwarf iris is very difficult to obtain and cultivate from risomes here in southern Australia. Still, this was useful information providing yet another layer of 'hope' for next year garden plans.

Found this little beauty killing time in natural tunnel state park in far southwestern virginia a few years back. Being the plant obsessed antiauthority person i am stole a couple hand fulls and brought em home threw em in a pot and wow they are an excellent ground cover. The only draw back is in the winter its bare
