This plant is not Oxalis stricta but the very similar Oxalis dillenii. Flower stalk of O. stricta can fork twice, (main peduncle dividing into two branches and each branch dividing again into 1-3 flowers while dillenii will only flower (1-7 flowers) directly from the main flower stalk. Hairs on dillenii will usually lie flat hugging the stem while stricta will not. O. stricta can send out runners (like O. corniculata) but O. dillenii will never do that. Both are native to the US and both are edible in moderate amounts, Oxalic acid (present in all Oxalis species) can be harmful to the kidneys if ingested in large quantities.

They are very difficult to kill.
@gardensofthegods Жыл бұрын
But who would want to kill them as they are a pleasant looking plant ... we have a lot of them growing here around the creek and they are kind of magical looking
