The Oxalis Plant with its clover-like leaf, make excellent indoor and outdoor ornamental plants.
The plant's leaves and flowers come in a variety of rich shades of colours . The beauty of the plant is its light sensitive, as it opens its flowers with the morning sun and closes its flowers in the dark.

Thank u very educational. My grandpa brought pink wood Sorrel from Ireland to East bay California when he was in his 20s. It's still in our garden we keep it in a pot on the porch shaded becuase it's very hot in central valley California

I planted beans as cover crop to then chop and drop and few months later I had the entire bed full of this. Picked them up and dumped them in the compost. Now I know that I have a lot to learn.

Hi Bryan, thanks for sharing. There are many different types of Oxalis plant. The ones I mentioned are ornamental plants. Please be careful, as there is the "Oxalis latifolia" and the. " Oxalis Corniculata " which is weed and very invasive. if you have time DM me with the photo and we can then assess.

We call them sour grass cause of the taste but it's actually good😂 I recently was cleaning out weed from beans in a pot we have on the oroch an I found some small I e and decide to pot them and keep them

Hi Sasha, growing up we to use to chew on them. Actually love the sour taste. The Oxalis I carried out propagating are ornamental oxalis are not invasive. Make sure you do not grow the Oxalis corniculata variety as they do have a tendency to take over your garden.

I love Wood Sorrel! I firs bouht somee at a loal Farmer's Market but when they ran out I found some growin wild here in Georgia but the leaves don't seem to get as big and they grow at certain levels off the main stem rather than one leaf on separate stems. I don't know what variety it is. Where do you get yours from? Do you buy it from a plant nursery or do you find it where you live?

Hi, I bought the Oxalis from a Garden centre. These are the ornamental variety. With oxalis there are also varieties that grow in the wild that are quite invasive. Especially the Oxalis Corniculata. Intially they do look pretty but later they can take over your garden .

I am surprised that they have not banned this flower in California. It is a beautiful yellow flower without doubt ,l but it spreads like wildfire. I have seen it take over an entire front yard of a house in Pasadena. If they get a foot hold it is a serious problem in my opinion I have seen them spread from yard to yard. Very difficult to get rid of. So many seeds and so many bulbs. Miss one and it comes right back.

Thank you for sharing. I do understand your concern. The one you mentioned is the Oxalis Corniculata, which is totally invasive and is a weed. However, the ones I introduced i.e. the yellow, white and pink variety in this episode are the non invasive ornamental oxalis variety. Thanks for your concern.
