Well Spinning Plumbobs doesnt work for free, he has a patreon with a few weeks early access and refuses to use Curseforge for the strict moderation. His mods are amazing but very volatile for long term gameplay. He pushes the game to its absolute limits and beyond

Well, the people working at the billion dollar company probably just make hourly, and they need to stay in the parameters of what the company sets when it comes to their content. Modders have the freedom to do whatever they want, and if they have a Patreon they can still charge for early release of mods.

I miss when plant sim was a permanent life state instead of it just being temporarily like The sims 4 plant sims even have less detail then plant sims in The Sims 3 like how!?

Spinning Plumbob! You said it all. For me, he has hit 3 home runs: Mermaids, Witches and Fairies, and now the Plant Sim. He puts EA to shame when you consider all of the game play you get despite the fact that he is limited by what is already there vs EA who can do pretty much anything they want to. His mods come this game play that is equal or better than pretty much any of the expansion or game packs. I imagine that he does have some help (or maybe not), still, why does he seem to out perform the EA "teams" that bring us content? There are other Moders that also seem to out perform EA. Many want Faries, and EA knows this, but SP showed everybody that Faries can be done. Plant Sims? Last thing I would have thought of, but all I can say is WOW!! I hope he can keep up the good work.

at this point, I think a player can just download the sims for free and then get all the fun mods. screw spending hundreds (thousands?) on all the expansion packs. I say this as someone who has bought a good chunk of the packs 😭

Hey Satch, I know a lot of simmers talk very mean and horribly to you, but I don't really watch any other simmer tubers. You keep it real and as a gay female, I appreciate you so much. I think you're amazing and you make very entertaining content, you don't take the game too seriously and you accept it for what it is. One thing I've noticed is when modders release certain mods and EA finds out, they release their own version so the mod is no longer accessible unless you own EAs version. They did this with WonderfulWhims and the attraction system. I noticed when Lovestruck came out the attraction system in CAS was completely gone and I was SO mad.

Er what if someone doesn't own Lovestruck? I installed Wicked Whims only recently and didn't learned all about it till now. But, anyway, I also have wonderful Regency Romance mod and EA don't seem to be releasing an historically accurate mod about hosting balls, coming into society, learning etiquette or calligraphy and so on. Also the magic scool mod never inspired EA to refresh the Magic Realm pack whatever it is called. There could be more spells, new school for magic kids, and so on. But no. There are thousands of mods they just absolutely don't care about and do nothing

This mod seems to have taken some of the best things from Sims 2 and brought them in. Sims 2 plant sims were the best plantsims, so that makes sense. I absolutely hated that Sims 4 made it a temporary condition and just made a whole bunch of ways for you to get it. They've updated gardening how many times now? but they can't update mermaids and plantsims.

So, regarding the furniture... I kept thinking I have stuff like that somewhere and I paused your video and looked in my files and I do! It was from Sims 1! It was cc from Sims 1 and I pulled it up and it is really really similar in appearance. I mean probably higher polycount and better graphics since it was Sims 1, but the game itself came with toadstool chairs and Parsimonious did a whole set where all the furnishing was a based on plants. I just think its hilarious I had a similar furniture set for Sims 1 and that was like 20yrs ago.

If they did that, then instead of releasing the entire mod for free, they'd charge you for at least 3 game packs, 4 - 5 Stuff packs, and maybe a couple of Kits as well. And it probably wouldn't work as well either.

Even if they worked under harsh time constraints, the basics should still function. I can understand if the final product is not fleshed out, but the game shouldn't be that buggy. Let's compare it to a math teacher, for example. It doesn't matter how stressed or uninterested a math teacher is, they would still get the basics right.
