Plantain Balm

This clip comes from our Wild Food & Foraging course which is Module 7 in our Forest School Activities Online Training.
Here I am going to show you how to make a balm or salve using a common plant called plantain (Plantago major or minor) which can be easily found in rural and urban areas (broadleaved plantain or ribwort plantain). Once again we are going through the principles of making a ‘balm’ which you can then use with other plants that may have different medicinal properties.
As you watch the video, try and break down the different parts and imagine how you would do this with your group. Could you collect the leaves together? Could you have some fun with crafts and games with this plant, before you make anything?
