The story format works well. I can relate to this whole process. Which is what makes it interesting for me. Thanks for sharing. Tanks evolve over time depending on how well the plants do and how bad the algae gets, LOL.

This was great to watch. I am really liking the end result.

Love the aquascape. If algae gets bad then I guess you could add red root floaters for the water chemistry and lighting

Nice! I do like the dragon stone. I had the same problems with melt and algae in my last setup too. I think it’s all balanced now.

Interesting idea with the anubias chandelier. Curious to see if having it so close to the light will result in a lot of algae or anubias burn. I’ve never been able to get away with that much direct light on anubias without causing major problems. You said the plant in the back was hygrophila pinnatifida but it looked a lot more like emmersed grown Bolbitis heudelotii. Larger leaves are going to slowly melt but it should rebound in a few months with all that CO2.

It’s lower than the ones in the mega flex but it’s definitely a possibility.

Really great as always! Really enjoyed your tracking of water chemistry, and yes, ammonia does happen! So many skip over it here on KZbin. Have you ever started a tank using the dark start method? I think it's called that. I'm kind of tempted to try on my next setup

No I’ll have to look that up.

@@pecktec I'm hoping I've used the right name now 😂 from what I understand you do your hardscape and substrate, flood it, leave it for a month with filtration running, empty, plant and refill. I think the idea is to reduce those algae/diatoms impacting plants early in a tank's life cycle.

In one of your other vids you called it hygro pinnatifida as well, but I don't think that's what it is! I have some in my tank and it's just a very different plant. I think you have a different hygro species. Hopefully they recover and we can get a good look at it.

Well it looks like the photos I found but that’s the hard way to ID for sure. It’s the first plant you see getting pulled out at the opening.

The scape turned out great! Sooooo jealous! lol just kidding ( not really ) 😂 What is that fern you planted in the back?
@pecktec6 ай бұрын
A hygro of some sort.

Is there something covering the inlet head on the filter pipe?

I thought you were going to use the fluval CO2 66 L I wanted to see how it worked for this tank the shaker .

I think it may be a little small for this. I have it going on my 25 in the same room right now.

Cap the substrate with sand and you'll never have ammonia spikes..👍

That ammonia spike I use to help set the cycle up.
