There is just something special about harvest time. I only have a one container garden now. But at one time my dad had me gardening a large vegtables patch 😊

Wonderful, thanks for showing. The smallest space is used to grow vegetables, I still have a lot to learn, thank you! Greetings from Germany

Northern CA this week planted my seed potatoes! They had sprouted in the closet and were telling me, "It's time."

How very satisfying. How big are your grow bags for the potatoes? I've just bought some because you inspired me, but I think they are too small. Please help!! 😊😊

Use what you have! Smaller potatoes such as the red ones perhaps? I find great seed potatoes in our local organic store -- not the big commercial kind like Whole Foods, but a local place with more locally-grown produce.

I would love to try this process. How do you start with growing the potatoes? I've never done this before. What do you actually plant in the grow bags? Thank you for sharing.
@Lunasgarden2021Ай бұрын
You plant either seed potatoes or shop bought potatoes that have started to sprout. Lots of KZbin videos about on growing potatoes

tiny organic potatoes from an organic store -- they are sure to not have growth inhibitors sprayed on them -- or seed catalogs for sure, yet I like the local store's many potato varieties this time of year. During the harvest, the small potatoes (seed potatoes) are separated out and sold as new potatoes. These are good to plant, or of course order specific seed potatoes if you wish.

Watching this I learned I harvest too soon, the leaves need to completely die. Im impatient and want my taters😂
@jeremymaccarthy1180Ай бұрын
I don't understand why you are sifting. The potatoes are much bigger than the soil. They can be harvested by hand. Unless there is a benefit from sifting. I haven't watched the whole video yet.

sometimes potato harvests have a lot of tiny potatoes that are easy to miss. As this harvest progressed, perhaps there was less need for a screen to catch tiny ones. The joy of potatoes is discovering what magic happened hidden in the soil, and it's really nice to have a mesh like he used, to see what you can see!!

Personally, I sift all of my soil that I'm going to reuse. With potatoes, I've missed tiny potatoes and had them start growing, and it isn't always ideal. I've found grubs as well. 💚

It also helps keep the soil soft and aerated

i planted my potatoes like a mont ago, and it has really big leaves, but the stem is not tall like all the ones I have seen, it must be about 5 centimeters high😟 will it still give me potatoes? or what can it be ? also beautiful video! 🥹🫶🏼
