Great video. You’re right having all these modern gadgets makes life more complicated but much easier at the same time. You’re still blessed, remember you KNOW how to do everything those gadgets are doing. If all those machines broke today, you know how to farm without them. Plenty of other younger farmers would be completely lost.

I finally took my Mother-in-Law in to be buried...she died in 2004 (cremated) my husband was suppose to take care of this since his sister lives in Florida...My husband died in 2014...I had to take care of things & not leave for my Children....I know she was squawking at me (she wanted to be place with her husband) I feel better-she feels better-life is good....thanks for the video....

They've been spreading Fertilizer with the teragators for the last week. Some farmers were planting sugar beets for the last couple days in middle Mich.

I can recall planting corn in the early 80s way before autosteer and GPS. I use to take the over night shift managed somehow still managed to keep the rows fairly straight.

The old farmers using horses had auto steer on the older horses that new the routine and I guess if you had oxen they were steers too.

Interesting to see timing and planting differences in different region. Here (South Texas) the corn has been planted a couple weeks and is already up. Hey DC I recently was given Deere lawn tractor 😊. Unfortunately he didn't service it for 15 years. When my great uncle was buried, the weather had been wet for days. The grave was at the bottom of a slope. The grave had to be dipped clear of water with a 5 gallon bucket. The crate the casket came in was put into the grave and then the casket. Years later his identical twin brother was buried right beside him.

Hi DCS! I always have the most interesting reaction to when you are digging a grave or disking in a field - dirt envy! 😂 Where I live here in coastal South Carolina there is usually only a very thin layer of ok-ish topsoil before you get to clay, and of course the first thing the housing developers do is scrape all of it off along with cutting down all or most of the trees. 😔 I lost track of the amount of soil amendments I've hauled in from the garden center to try to make even my flower beds decent enough to actually give my plants a smidgen of a chance to thrive. When I see that gorgeous, thriving topsoil that gets turned over in your videos, I'm like ' Ooolala 😍'. I thought you'd get a chuckle from that. 😊 All the best to you and the family from here in Summerville!
