where i worked they drilled their wheat but drilled wheat had trouble with plant health in many ways you planting on 30 in rows may be the ticket to help plant health issues 15in maybe better but all you have is a 30 in row planter so 30 in is what it is if this 30 in works maybe look at finding a 15 in planter for next year

Every year when we start cotton harvest we go to the field and the first cotton stalk we come to that’s the one I use to clean out the heads on the picker

I live in the piedmont of nc in the early 70 s a farmer planted barley in 36 inch rows with Alice chaler planter the notill planters are here he harvested a crop there is pictures in book I have on it looked good

Are the cotton pickers top heavy? They seem to spin around tight. Seems like they would easily turn over.

Little bit top heavy but not to the point of rolling one. We just swing around tight because we are only 15’ wide and pick back beside the last pass to stay out of the way of the stalk cutter.

Yes you can. I have a good friend that’s been very successful at it. I planted a few acres in 15” as well.
