As many have said already, Tenacity should NOT be used when planting bentgrass, as it is designed to control bentgrass at both pre and post emergence. I misread the label when I reviewed it before choosing to apply it. Luckily, I have seen a nice grow in so far (today is day 13 post seeding). Stay tuned for more updates on this project. I took on (well tried at least) a putting green project and made this exact mistake. Saw excellent germination all over the area and after about 4-5 days, it all turned white and died. I was devastated after all my hard work. But lessons were learned. I'll try again next year.

Jimmy, put down some Hydretain on your putting green to conserve water and lessen the need to water the grass seed.

Creeping Bentgrass is the devil when it gets into fescue. Tenacity did a great job killing it. Very little Creeping Bentgrass came back this year. Of coarse I killed that too as my lawn is TTTF.

Hey Jimmy, can’t wait to see the results. Mr. Perry got a head start on his new putting green 😂. Btw the Yard Mastery calculator tells you how much to throw down per 1000 square feet, so hopefully you put down 2lbs of your starter fertilizer and not 4lbs right??

Right, should be 2lbs. Seems odd that the app asks for yard size and then gives you results per 1,000. Seems like it should say, "throw down X lbs in your yard" - that would help you determine how much you need to buy and drop.

Be careful that creeping bent can take over a lawn quickly. I hope you left those shoes at the putting green after seeding. I'm currently on my second attempt to kill off all the creeping bent in the front lawn come spring I will more than likely have a couple small spots that I missed. I'm seeding with Ryan Knorrs sossygrass this time cuz KBG takes to darn long anyway BE CAREFULL JIMMY
