“Do you have to move plants all the time” my husband 😂
@MyFocusVaries2 ай бұрын
The answer is, "Yes." They grow and change. The life of a gardener. I remind my husband that he's the one who said it "wasn't that heavy" and "it's healthier than watching TV" 😂

I think my husband is just use to it now, its just how the garden is. 😂

I love magnolias. Municipal works this summer meant we lost ours that we planted 20 years ago as a 12 inch stick. 😢 But we planted a Miss Saitomi dogwood in its place, which is also lovely. My husband used to work as a commercial landscaper, so he taught me what he learned from his English horticultural college trained boss, and he was pretty tough on root bound plants. They'll definitely die if you plant them as is, so it's worth the risk of cutting through the roots. I sometimes have the patience to unravel a girdled root, but otherwise, I cut through. I haven't lost a plant yet. We also root wash trees, and have found some that appear okay, but once we wash the soil off, we find they are root bound, but have been potted up to hide that.

Ahh, good to know, I didn't think about hiding tree roots, I will be watching that a little more close now! Thanks.

Probably need to trim off the sucker on bottom of tree as well. But it all sure looks pretty and fresh:)

Yes, I meant to do that in the video and spaced it, trimmed now. Thank you for chiming in🙏

I thought you lived at the Crowley house. Didn't know you lived elsewhere.

I own Crowley House, and we just moved to the family farm this summer, Keith and his family moved into the CH till the nursery business gets up and going, then Ill move back, Lord willing. My family's farm that I grew up on is just a few minutes away and needs work so that is what I am doing here, Ill show more on our Thursday videos of that as we start to work on the gardens. It is a beautiful property but I do miss my old home. 🌻

Is this your new home?
@crowleyhouseflowerfarm2 ай бұрын
My family home that I grew up in, yes for the time being. The home and my father came to me in a trust, My brother and his family moved from Ohio to start a nursery business with me and since they have little ones it worked best that he lived at Crowley House. We are working on the family home and bringing it back from disrepair with the gardens and home. I do miss my home at Crowley House but this new adventure is kind of fun and Lord willing Ill be back at Crowley House in a few years.
