I am a hoarder so I usually have something I can grab. This piece was leftover from our deck rail redo and I had it tucked away to use at some future point. I have more of the concrete mesh too that was removed from our woodshed and it is stored over behind my garage to use whenever I need it. Being a hoarder is not always a good thing but I find it saves me a lot of $$$ in the long run.

Thankfully we have relatively cool mornings and evenings, that is when I try and get things done and this next week we really cool down so I can get even more done.

😂😂😂 I had a good chuckle about your so called dirty chicken coup Pam. Way to politely tell off that lady who was so criticle😅. You are so no nonsense I love it. I also love your new planter. Turned out great! Keep up the great projects ❤

😁Sometimes I do wonder at people. There are some fancy chicken care sites that have all these things you supposedly must do and they are so fanciful and unrealistic. Some who may want to own chickens may be scared off by all the unnecessary things they portray. I assumed she had been watching or reading those sites and not know the reality. I find those comments completely comical and you can sure tell they are ignorant of about real chicken keeping!

I love the thin planter. The rose looks beautiful in it. I wish I had cattle panels and such to just grab and use. Also I love the beginning of this video. How you restarted it a few times you're so funny.❤❤ I can't wait to see the new way to do rose cuttings. I have 2 roses that in 7 years never bloomed, and finally put one rose out this year. They came with our house. They're in the back of my shaded yard. They grow really tall, but don't produce blooms because they don't get enough Sun, so I want to do a cutting, and I want to get it to climb up my front porch. Which does receive sun. I think it'll be pretty.❤❤

I will try and get that video for the cuttings up this week. So far it looks very promising.

We never get rain in summer so I find it funny when folks say that. It would be so nice if we did.

Pam, I love the rose planted in the deck box! Have you ever thought of going over the deck box with cedar slats? It would make it look like a cedar planter but it would last a lot longer than an all wood planter.

That certainly is a great idea. I may still see about creating the cedar fence board version as well. The cedar boards I treat with organic tung oil and they last forever and a day that way.

We have 3 roosters that free range and they love tearing up my landscape chips. 🙄. Apparently they love taking baths 😅. Would love to let hens out, and we do at times when we keep roosters penned, but they really tear it up 😂. I had an idea to use an American wisteria to shade greenhouse and it is not very vigorous as the previous Asian wisteria. Not sure what the issue is. We have had a drastic cooldown and I actually have a jacket on. It’s been so sweltering with humidity and now a complete flip. Heat returns next week.

I have the American wisteria out front, I think it is called Blue Moon. It would be a great idea to add it to the barrel here. So I think I will dig up this Fall and move it. I can't let my hens out either but more because there are hungry coyotes roaming the neighborhood.

I get mine at a local winery called Bryce Station and I also get it at Hurst Ranch Feed Store in Jamestown, CA.
