Beautiful plants, love the dark foliage on the plants. I love the sedums in the first spot. I got great cardboard at Costco, you can get it for free. They have large sheets in between their pellets. No tape, no breaking down boxes.

Option B 😊 Love all the dark foliage! Just beautiful! 🐝

As soon as you walked over to your hydrangea standard garden beds I thought your sedums would look great mixed in there! So option B is my vote. :) I love adding dark foliage to my garden too. Recently I added the Eclipse Hydrangea from First Editions. I found a fairly burnt and beat up one on clearance at Lowes…but it’s already bouncing back and the blooms are even prettier than I anticipated! Clearance plant for the win! 😊

Looking great! I was thinking you were in zone 4. You said zone 3. I lived a lot of my life in Alaska zone 3. Now I am in zone 8a Alabama! Anyway, you are doing a great job. I hope you can find time to rest.

I like the back on black sedum by the rudbeckia. Just got a dark foliaged bug bane! Hope you get some more sleep soon.

Love the dark plant choices! Question. Do you ever have moose or deer pressure in your garden?
@simplybloomКүн бұрын
I do have deer but the only thing that they go after in my garden is my broccoli and cabbage. I didn’t get those to grow at all this year because the deer at them all. But in a way that’s okay because they left everything else alone!

You can use rolls of painter paper from Lowe’s or Home Depot instead of cardboard.

Have you tried that way? I’m worried that the paper won’t be thick enough. But if you’ve tried it with good success then I’m willing to give it a shot!

Matthew with Southerner’s Northern Garden used it to create new gardens and had huge success doing so. The key would be a thick layer of mulch.
