Clever love the squash trellis. Hope it works for you. Beautiful day and lovely garden. Potatoes look great. Chickens are wonderful. Have a great weekend. Nice to see you have your advertising back. Hi Kelly and Otis.

I had my 1st squash stew with pasta today and I am not hooked. It kind of tastes like sweet turnip or something its freaking gorgeous. I am going to plant 4 of the seeds I got from the plant and see what I can get this year. Put some netting over your plants, stop the bugs eating them.

Doing the majority of my cucurbits in pots this year, really interested to see how the metro squashes work out, might try them next year, smaller fruits mean less weight on the stems in theory so could be winner for containers.

Everything looks amazing Joe! I so impressed with the size of your plants! Just planted my winter squashes, tomatoes and peppers. It’s warm enough here for them to grow outside but my plants are much smaller than yours. I’m trying to get the hang of succession planting. My goal this year is to harvest every month of the year. My first harvest was in March . Ten months to go. Cheers!

@@diggingfordinner Yes i leave 1m wide for the plant, 50cm each side of the stem and leave them to cover 4/5m. Hoping to get around 30kg of normal butternut and 3/4 pink bananas (probably 10kg odd each lol, left 70cm either side of the stalk for that one, want it to have loads of space

If you have a big store that sells fabric, go to that area a see if they have tule (there is a bridal tule. is a fine one, that's not it) you are looking for a more courser one, it is airly cheap, usually really wide, get a few yards of that and put over your broccoli etc...!
@pjd2709
@pjd2709 5 жыл бұрын
@laughter Yes you can cover almost anything in the garden with the tule. If you use sticks/stakes of any kind be sure to put something over the top of the stick/stake so it dosen't rip the tule. You could even built a frame for your bed out of either a thin wood, or bamboo tied up with jute , or even 1/2 inch PVC tubing long length arched over like a poly tunnel greenhouse. Happy gardening, and cheers to you too!
