David is just as cool as you guys are👍👍👍 love the friendship you guys share . Not to many different farms work together anymore to get it done and it's sad. Competition has surpassed the friendship and harmony the business used to be. All the best fellas

I have watched 2 other farmers in the past 12 hours one in Canada one in the UK and all 3 of you said they were nervous about being late planting because of the weather. The UK guy was coming out of a terrible wet winter and had it the worst. Down here in OZ most planting is in Autumn for harvest in late spring because it is much too hot and dry in Summer. Good luck to you all wherever you are; hope it all grows well without being so good it kills prices!

All the U-Tube farmers that use a Kinze or White planter have hooked up and went planting without any problems. Those using new John Deere planters, not so much.

One of the pig farmers I know switched from feeding hybrid corn to feeding heirloom varieties (bloody butcher, Reids yellow dent) and saw his litter sizes increase 20% plus a lot healthier herd. ... So get a few bags of heirloom seed (it's about 1/3rd the $ of fancy seed) and plant a few acres. Then keep that corn separate at harvest and test to see which the pigs like to eat the best, and how they do on it. .. Heirlooms need more in-row spacing, best is 9-12inch between plants to set ears but will frequently set two good ears. If you can grow it away from the other corn you can save the seed for next year for no seed cost.

is it prohibited in US to use your own seeds ? You would save a lot of money.
@MorganOtt-ne1qj7 ай бұрын
It depends on what you plant. The new varieties with technology are patented, and you can not save the seeds. Many don't replicate true to the hybrid but revert to a parent strain. Open pollinated types may be saved, if it's not specifically forbidden on the package. But those don't have any of the technology bred into them.
