@@wendymckee6627 you must've forgotten how grotesque the "Mail Day" videos had become & why they stopped. Every box, from the fans of course, was for the kids & it got to the point where Aaron felt uncomfortable with the "generosity" Then there were the fans who thought Laura needed a GoFundMe for the Hartley, I guess they didn't realize how much money they were making off of their multiple channels....

Woke up to rain and then got the notification GA has up a new video. Life is good!Edit: My grandmother always planted four o'clocks, in the evening we would sit on the back porch where it was cool after supper, and she had cleaned up the kitchen. The smell of those flowers brings back those memories. I plant them to this day in red and yellow. Now I'm old and sit on the back patio after cleaning up the supper dishes, having a cup of coffee, thinking of granny, and wondering where has the time gone!

I like the example that you used with the arbs needing more water and adding more irrigation. I think this is a good example of how gardeners must figure things out. Gardening is an art and a science! We do have to troubleshoot many times and the answers are not always clear. It's encouraging to know that other gardeners are all figuring things out together and sharing the knowledge with each other. Thanks for sharing your experience with us so we can all learn!! PS--I loved it when Samantha took a bite of the berry. I just hope she is willing to try it again when the berry is ripe and that doesn't deter her from trying new things!!

P. S. Terrible problems here with Himalayan blackberries so I know yours is different and much better, but I can’t help but wonder if they might still try to grow into your existing plants in that location? At least they are thornless, unlike the wicked thorns on the Himalayan blackberries, so they will be easier to control.

I wouldn’t worry about pruning the tomatoes. We grew lots of them on our farm and we tied them up but never pruned and had great success. I think the perfect pruning of the lower leaves is really only helpful if you are worried about airflow for diseases, in which case you can plant them farther apart, or perhaps, at the end of the season to top them and cut off any small fruit that won’t have time to ripen so the fruit you leave have a slightly better chance. Honestly, I think this is only feasible if you have a small garden or a lot of help and time and I don’t think it makes a huge difference. Plus you then have the risk of burning the fruit and the leaves help it make energy. Just my 2 cents, of course.
