You're so blessed to find someone with that many years of knowledge in landscaping. I just wish some younger folks had the drive to learn from these fellas. What will people do in a few years when all that is gone? Your place is looking wonderful and I pray you have a bountiful year. I also pray for you to stay healthy and strong for all you do. Blessings and hugs

I didn’t put this in the video because there’s so much wind and it just didn’t make it but he had worked there 39 years and he walked in one day and the secretary said they were going to have to let some people go and he had five on his team and he said OK how many am I gonna have to let go and she said everybody including him! Even Opryland outsources their own landscaping now.

Dappled Willows are beautiful and make a nice focal point but should not be close to any buildings. I removed one that was on its third season only. It grew roots under my newly built shed continued underneath a shared fence into my neighbours vegetable garden. It made me panic a bit because I did not realize it would do that. You have such a beautiful large property it would look good anywhere.

He’s right about the deer rutting in young trees. They rubbed a few of mine and even though the trees lived they are stunted. We put wood stakes up and stapled on deer netting. Also I sprinkle Milorganite around them in winter. I am surprised they didn’t stake them the first year and mix organic matter (pine soil conditioner) with the native soil to help with drainage.

Can't wait to see the wildflower seeds come up and bloom! I wish they had at the very least cut the wire from the root ball of the pines. I've seen fully grown pines fall over, roots and all from wire still around the root ball. Sad, when that happens. I suppose that won't be his problem by then though. You're place is so very beautiful in all four seasons, Kaye! Those pines will add even more beauty in the winter!

I have 2 Shuman red oaks, majestic trees, no 3, I have 1 that's a volunteer. Mom and dad got me the oaks one year for Christmas. Wish they could see them. They are gorgeous !! I also have a Hackberry that I dislike immensely, but it does give shade so I keep it trimmed back. Got 10 small jars of cowboy candy made. Going to pick up 2 more pineapples tomorrow for 97 cents. I'll have 4 to can then. I'll get them done tomorrow or Wednesday. Ive now done 187 jars since January 6th. I'm in a 365 challengeg to can 365 jars this year!! Over half way. Fun yo keep track of how much you csn!! I only do small batch, but it certainly does add up quickly!! Your pines will be beautiful!! God bless!!

If the seasons r changing it’s because people r making them change. These companies have been manipulating our weather and it needs to end. Was glad to see Doug from Doug and Stacys channel talking about it. I’m so sick of them poisoning us! The sky was full of lines again today. Anyway, hope the trees do well and grow like weeds. Tc

In Pennsylvania we called them Osage Orange trees. I used the oranges for Fall decorations. Here in OK we call them Bodark trees. And the cattle will eat the mock oranges. There were a lot of fence posts on the wire along my pastures that were Bodark posts. They are very hard wood. And take a lot of time to rot.

Getting a lot done. Looks beautiful. It would have been a good time to have them relocating your Dappled Willow which is close to your cystern. The roots are very invasive.and challenging to remove. Thank you for sharing. God Bless.

Oh, Kaye, they're only 6 months behind, because if they are 6 and a half feet now, and you wanted 8' trees, and they grow 3' a year, you're closer than you think!! I think?

Lovely trees, my friend! I just love how you're leaving the wildflowers - So many manicure their lawns and starve the bees in the early Spring. You might want to invest in a tripod sprinkler - It will make hand watering that wild flower plot a lot easier.

@darlenesgardenandhome Жыл бұрын
I think it depends on your climate. You are where it rains a lot. The wire should eventually rust away. Here where I am we have to remove wire as it's a dry climate and the wire will choke the root growth of the tree.😊

Bon gia! Todo bien? I'm gobsmacked by you at times. I hope I haven't sent this to you yet. I hope it helps. I have 5 rules I live by. For me life is smoother. 1- Accept all things. No anger or disappointment needed. 2- Question all things. You may learn what you didn't know. 3- Everything is as it should be. Don't worry, be content. 4- Nothing shall be as it was. Change will arrive & trees will grow. 5- Be good to all people. Our blessings come from others. There you have my recipe for less stress. Take it & fly with it. Atte logo amore.

It will depend on rain. I don't have a plan yet. We had a whole day of rain that next day, and a lot of water comes off that hill. I'm not worried about the two lower. I may try to water the top one.
