Where do you live, brother? That place looks glorious. God bless you for planting those awesome trees, we need them. Chief River is awesome! Imagine if all nurseries were as righteous as they are, the world would be a more beautiful place. Cold Stream Farm is like a sister site to them, they seem to be modeling themselves after them or maybe it’s the other way around. I just bought some white pines from Chief River too. Because I live in Illinois I bought some America Tamarack trees as well as those trees are becoming more and more rare in the state. Illinois used to have about 14 million acres of forests before many ignorant souls over harvested about 10.5 million acres of forest, leaving us with about 3.5 million left. This is very tragic. I pray to God that more people like you will come about and save the world from the terrible ruin that inevitably comes with deforestation.

Thanks, just got 50 about the same size from the DNR. Gonna try your method with a little cow manure additive. Should spice things up for them.

This may help you with the chicken wire. Find a space on your lawn, lay roll down, take cut side and pull out several feet to the left and place something heavy on it to hold it down. Unroll the wire to the right then tramp back and forth on the flat wire thus removing the curving effect from the roll.

Hey Levi, I hope those white pines work out, we tried those in SC like 20 years ago, they were a mess here, branches broke with every snow and ice storm, I hope u have better luck in PA ... Tim from SC...

Thanks I hope so too. There are a few big ones on the property and they look great. Hope these turn out similar.

Someone else suggested cut the chicken wire first create a pile in back of side by side. Put all post in first then do fencing. More production line style.

That is a good idea.

Levi, nice job with the white pines! Poultry wire is a pain, trust me I know. Each silo is the same circumference, right? Unroll the wire and pre cut several lengths, then the job should go a little faster. Give my best to Hunter!

Hi when I was a teenager I planted a bout 5000 tree I didn't move any brush I did plant about 6 to 8 feet apart I had about 95 of all trees staying alive
@ThaidupwiththeMorgans2 жыл бұрын
Wow! That’s a lot of trees!!

Why didn’t you drive the stake as you plant the trees?
@ThaidupwiththeMorgans2 жыл бұрын
Between carrying the trees, cutters, camera, dibble bar and weed eater it was enough to carry at a time. Needed to get the trees in ground sooner than later.

Lol I do have one now, but unfortunately on that day I didn’t have it with me. I was at my parents and didn’t plant to get video.

Those look like Red Pines, not White Pine.
@ThaidupwiththeMorgans2 жыл бұрын
Look similar at that size but definitely white pine.
