I can't wait to go to Costco tomorrow to get some bulbs. I generally do love Longfield's bulbs and plants, but 3 out of 5 dahlias I ordered last year had gall. Their alliums, daffodils, and Lilies most of all were excellent and their customer service for any rotted bulbs/corms/tubers has been great.

I'm sure all the bulbs will be beautiful in the spring. I am also not a spring bulb person. But last fall I thought I would try it so have some nice spring colour. I planted a bunch of tulips, crocus and daffodils. The squirrels and possibly skunks (because they also love to dig) dug up and ATE half my bulbs. In the spring half my bulbs bloomed for a couple days before the rabbits came and chewed everything to the ground 😱😭. I was not a happy gardener. I will not be planting bulbs this fall 😂😅. I think anyone who can plant bulbs and have them bloom like you are so lucky ❤❤. Love the video and I love the chemistry between you two, you guys make a very sweet couple. Your banter makes me smile 😊. Reminds me of my husband and I at times lol.

I remove them after flowering as that is where my annuals go. Townhouse living. Sucks that your Costco is 1.5 hours away.

Bulbs aren't for those who desire instant gratification but bulbs welcome the season of spring. After winter, they really are a breath of spring! Tulips are the squirrels' favorite dessert. I plant alliums and daffodils in the same hole to deter the squirrels. It has been a glorius fall.

Yeah a bulb video! I just do daffodils now too due to deer and critters eating up my tulip and crocus bulbs. Hyacinth are okay too. Tahiti is one of my favorite. I was having an issue with my drill this year and had to hand plant about 250 bulbs by hand. I was crying! It's barbaric. Drill is working again so I have about 100 more to plant as soon as my order arrives. A drill and auger is a must if you are planting a lot of bulbs. This year I planted more Tahiti, Flower Parade and Mount Hood and Gigantic Star. Hoping to do some smaller early ones next year. I love a window box but I think in that spot it would be just too much. If you just had the boxwood there I would say yes. But I think it would be distracting and take away from the hydrangeas.

I’m planting my bulbs today and this weekend! I’ve got about 300 daffodils and tulips. I’ve got to take care of the few things I left in my vegetable garden that have finally got frostbite. I’m in 5b southern maine.. first frost was a few days ago.. and nightly since 😆 zinnias and basil are done! Leaving marigolds, kale and Swiss chard.. my hens love it.. and it’s still holding on 🙃

I recently planted daffodil and tulip bulbs. I walked by the area the next day to see that some bulbs were dug out (probably by a resident neighborhood squirrel) -aaakkk! I grabbed a mesh screen I had and placed it over the area, which I plan to remove before they’re due to break ground. I had put in bone meal when planting them, as I saw that bulbs benefit from it; some things I read say that it is a squirrel deterrent, while others say it attracts them. Apparently squirrels find bulbs a delicacy, so maybe they’ll get to the bulbs even with a deterrent... The Bulb Tone you use I see has bone meal as an ingredient. Any issues with critters digging out your bulbs? Thanks, and great video! 😊

Hi my friends. I bought a bunch of hydrangeas, 2 gallon on sale. I am zone 5a and today will be almost 50(we have had frost). Can I still put them in the ground? If yes, how long do I water them? Put them in! Water them until just after thanksgiving and toss some on now and then if you don’t get a lot snow

I did my bulbs this past Sunday. I am so glad I bought the auger. Last year was my first year planting bulbs and it took for ever digging the holes and it was only like a 150. This year we did around 200. took less than hour. Have one person drill the other person pour the fert, then pop them in, then cover. The sad part is I heard Tulips have a hard time coming back in certain areas and was hoping they will in ours but since you guys live near by and hearing its hit or miss makes me sad. When it comes to colur I think tulips are prettier. Im not a big fan of daffodils.

Gentlemen, I started following you only just this past late Summer, after Erin/Impatient Gardener mentioned you, so I didn't see how you addressed the MESSINESS of bulb foliage well into June/July. I HATE that part of bulbs and was certain you didn't use bulbs in your beds as they always look so 'clean' and well-managed, so I'll be watching next Spring to see how you handle (this Problem....)
