Hey Tee, Thanks for the tip. I'm going to buy a mesh basket this week. Most of the store bought potting soil is full of crushed wood chips. Now I can sift the soil I've stopped using for my seedlings. I discovered that Family Dollar has 16 quart bag of Professional Soil Mix & Seed Starter for $3.50. I use it for my seed trays since its fluffy without fillers. Happy Fall Gardening! 😇

I just planted my collard seeds; I planted Georgia collards, a 72 cell tray a couple of days ago and most of them have already sprouted. I also planted turnips, Swiss chard, kale and onions. I always cover them with tulle fabric when planting this early to keep the moths off them. You’re off to a great start.
@BeauteeInTheGarden2 жыл бұрын
That is awesome! The tulle fabric is amazing saves time and money. I make tomato cage teepees and cover them with tulle💚 Love It happy Planting

By the way, a friend of mine gave me a tip for labeling plant markers. She uses a marker, lets the ink dry, then paints over her seed names with clear nail polish. She said this prevents fading and she can reuse the same plant markers again. I tried it and the summer sun didn't damage my letters yet.

Glad to see you sticking to it. Summer gardening is harder because of the heat and the higher pest pressure. Fall gardening is easier. This is my second year😊

Hi Tee! You look so pretty and colorful today. Love it! I planted a couple of seeds of collards weeks ago. I haven't planted as much as I would like too because it's been in triple digits here in Cali for more than 3 weeks. Hopefully by mid August I can start all my fall seeds. Thanks again for sharing!😊

It's so much fun sowing along with you. I'm sowing inside on Monday and they have already germinated. Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage and broccoli. I still have so much collards in the freezer I'm wondering should I start more. I just harvested a 5 gallon bucket full and gave to my daughter when she visited this past weekend. Can't wait to see what you have next
