I'm loving all the bird houses, feeders, water for the birds in the background. Fun stuff like that adds so much to your garden.

Oh, this garden is going to be beautiful! I like the combination of plants you've selected and then adding all the extra touches such as pots, feeders, seating, chimes, etc. Beautiful! Have you considered adding a birdbath of any size? Thank you for sharing the chickens taking a dust bath! They are so fun! Ya'll made quick work in getting all those plants in the ground! Augers are a game changer for sure.

A girl after my own heart. ❤️ I LOVE me some peonies and have thought your garden was at a deficit. So glad to see these additions. I inherited a couple nameless peonies when I moved in to my house. I used to think one, possibly both, was 'Sarah Bernhardt.' But I now believe it's the paler pink or blush you planted, 'Shirley Temple.' I seriously need to lift these couple plants this August to help them produce more blooms. I wanted to ask about your DeWalt drill because I'm expanding my line of tools (reciprocating saw is still my FAVORITE in the garden). Thank you for anticipating my question. BTW, Janey from Dig, Plant, Water, Repeat has been posting videos from the PNW garden show and she referred to you by just your first name. I love our community. Everyone follows each other. Of course we knew she meant you when she was at the Power Planter booth showing your auger demo. Headed to her channel next to see her interview with Jack. (And we all know who that is.) 😊 Your new garden is looking so lovely.

I am going to be following this garden. We have a 1/3 of our yard as a wooded slope facing west that ends at a tidal creek. Currently, it is natural. I have always wanted to do something with it. We tried when we first bought the land 30 years ago. Except for a couple azaleas everything has died out. I do have lots of wild mountain laurel. We planted low growing juniper at the top edge and that is doing well and covering that whole top slope. However there is a lot of virginia creeper growing through it and hard to get to. Whatever I plant on this slope will have to be maintenance free. Slope can be steep and hard to maneuver especially at this age.

Your bird houses are lovely! Jenny, If you like peonies, May I suggest 2 varieties for you? One is Kansas, other one is Pink Hawaii . they are beautiful with strong stems, even don't need support. I have 25 varieties of 74 plants planted in my garden. Kansas and pink Hawaii are outstanding! I watch your channel more than one year and thank you for sharing!

Speaking of garden experiments, I just purchased an edgeworthia chrysantha for my zone 8b, coastal NC garden. I plan on putting it where it’ll get full sun. Fingers crossed that it’ll survive! Do you have any experience with this plant and do you know if it can take full sun? Plant delight nurseries has it listed as full to part sun, with more blooms in the full sun. I don’t have irrigation so I’ll be dragging a hose to it all summer but I don’t mind if it means it’ll live!

You’re planting before the last average frost date. What happens if there’s a cold snap?
@GardeningwithCreekside8 ай бұрын
Oh there's definitely going to be cold weather, in fact every morning this week we've been below freezing. You can safely plant perennials, shrubs, and trees throughout the winter as long as the plants have been grown outside (all of ours are left outdoors all winter) and your ground isn't frozen (ours never does in the Piedmont of NC). It is better to plant them now so that their root system can get developed before the heat of the summer hits.
