I'm planting 10+ fruit trees in my backyard, in a really small area using the backyard orchard culture method. This method allows you to fit a LOT of trees in not a lot of space!

Farmer's Almanac states April 21st for our avg last frost, we've had frost all week, and even this morning, we had a FREEZE from 3am-9. So I will still wait until May 15 since that was our avg last frost for YEARS! Almost a whole month change is an unreliable notion. Just because we went from 6b to 7a doesn't mean a whole world difference. I'm going with what I know.

Lots of trees do well in containers! I just grabbed some citrus for the greenhouse I’ll keep in pots

Ive bought trees and a vibe from them. Good packaging, fast shipping sp isnt bakomg in a warehouse, healthy trees, i do recommend stark also

Have been growing avocado and grapes. Two very healthy peach trees a fig tree a watermelon patch a cantaloupe patch and vegetable garden. I'm trying to get my strawberry garden done. I'm needing a bit of advice on fertilization amounts in different soils and from trees to garden vegetables

You guys should be heating up fast. I was sleeping in a swag at 1100 mtrs ( 3800ft) last few nights, and I was cold. Hope your fruit trees power on ! My neighbours had a mango tree. It was so small and sorry looking. I cared for it for 2 years and the following year it had over 20 mango’s. They were so good.

How invasive do the root systems get with those trees, will they eventually damage your foundation or any pipes that may be near? I had planted a couple fig trees many years ago too close to my garage and the root system did some significant damage, It cost me a fortune to fix it before I sold the place.

fruit trees generally have pretty shallow roots. Anywhere at least 4' away from the foundation is ok IF you keep the tree a small size like I'm doing here with aggressive pruning

Do you know how bad it is that I didn’t prune when I planted my trees last week? We have property 4 hrs away and we only had time to finish the fence and get 17 trees in the ground. I’m worried about them not being able to put enough energy into the roots. I can try to prune next time I go out there but I don’t want to mess them up if they started growing too much. We did standard spacing, so maybe it’s ok since I don’t want to keep them small.

They'll be fine. If you're ok with them getting full-sized, you don't need to prune when planting. You can take a bit off the top to encourage growth, though, if you want.
