You should get some of those qrcode tags so you walk by and scan the code with your phone and it shows the name and picture. And when you get ready to dig and store you can put the tag with tubers to make it easier to plan where they go next year! And if you use your big crates for more than one variety you can use a big piece of cardboard as a divider.

This is why I love your channel. You do the work. You are organized. You talk about issues with honesty and solutions. Your product recommendations are so helpful. The FELCO gloves for doing thorny projects saved my hands today. You are not whiney when challenges are there. You have a bunch of info and present it in an accessible way. The music is varied, soothing and conducive. Family, animals- much appreciated. Creative- and you spark this in us viewers. Not a lot of excess talking and the talking is informative. Plus you have a wonderful vocabulary. May we just say thanks? Thanks!

A couple of questions: You went back to the auger, did you not like the stick thing, and how often will you water the garlic during the winter? People are going to miss you not having a free flower day. The dahlias are beautiful this year. I think Clyde's Choice is my favorite. I love the color.

@belindaroadley
@belindaroadley 8 ай бұрын
I'm not as knowledgeable as Laura but I do grow a couple thousand garlic each year so I think I can help with this question! 😊 It's the wet season during winter where I live, so I basically don't water all winter. They grow very very slowly during winter, so they don't need a lot of water. Lightly damp is all they need during winter (though they can handle plenty of moisture as long as they're well-drained). When I plant them in autumn, I water when I plant them, then I usually can forget about them until spring. If it's really dry for an extended period in autumn/winter and the soil is drying right out, then give them a drink. Other than that, I don't really start watering until spring, when their growth starts going bonkers. But if I get occasional rain during spring, then I don't worry about watering at all. They're a great crop coz they're so stinkin easy to grow. Just make sure there's zero competition (no weeds, no grass) or your bulbs will be tiny. Garlic doesn't like competition. Besides that, just make sure the soil isn't desert and you'll be good! 😄

Love, love the view of the beautiful cut flower garden with your garden cottage! Oh.. would love that as a picture. With cold weather coming, i find myself wanting to hang on to every last flower. I love fall, but dread the dreary cold dark months. Special request for Aaron, i understand it is a lot of work... a drone shot if all the views of your garden, and of course the pond, with background of the cottage..Chicken Coop etc. It would give many of us joy to get that flower fix when the drearies ( my term) hit. I know there are many who know that feeling. I hope you will do more arrangements in the garden cotttage, it is so pretty! If you did table arrangements for nursing or assisted living, i know it would be appreciated greatly! Something to see, smell, touch, that is beautiful brightens their day! Especially those who have had gardens in the past. I know you don't look for accolades, ignore those who think you do..they have no clue! I love your GA vids.

Oh I would love to have some tubers. My granddaughter made a few arrangements with my dahlias and took to her boyfriend’s grandmother. That was the main reason I planted them so we could enjoy those beautiful flowers together. Each time she made an arrangement she took a picture and sent me or either I would go down and look at it in person. Mine are doing better right now since it has cooled off a little. Yay! A tour of the dahlias :) digging and dividing that many tubers is a daunting task but when you are standing in the middle of all that beauty, totally worth it!

I’m always amazed by your ability to identify so many plants. Every dahlia you showed us was beautiful. It would be impossible for me to pick my favorite.

Pooh and Giggles Dahlias, with their wide open-faced central disc are more attractive and accessible to pollinators than the other Dahlias constructed with many layers of petals I believe. I learned this while researching the best Zinnias for pollinators, as the same premise would apply. All of the Dahlia are gorgeous! 😊

Wow raspberries in October! We have a 2 week harvest in July and that’s it😢. You are so lucky to live where you do.
