You will love hollyhock, tall flower spike, flower depends on variety, medium sized blooms over a few days to a few weeks.

My mom and dad loved planting Hollyhocks. I see your wife has a Destin shirt on, we went there last year on Spring break and our kids talk about that trip more than any other we have been on lol. Good times. We went with about 30 ppl from our church. Good luck with he hollyhocks! I didn't hear what the other flowers were that you were planting for your mothers. That is a great idea though. I need to do that.

Hmmm no, but they rest after one season and bloom then die the second. They produce a ton of seed and once going will reseed themselves with slight care. At least in South Arkansas
