Planting Honeysuckle Vine Kintzley's Ghost and a New Trellis 🍃

🍃Today I will be planting my heirloom Kintzley's Ghost Honeysuckle Vine and installing a trellis on my potting shed to support the vine. And if you love vintage, I am also sharing my mom's lovely wedding china. I hope you enjoy this relaxing video as I add the new Kintzley's Ghost to my backyard.

I just bought a Kintzley's Ghost Honeysuckle from Rick's Nursery near Old Colorado City. They had real nice ones there for 25 dollars. I'm going to plant mine tomorrow.

@@RockyMountainGardens I live up in Cordera, but I make the trip to Ricks. They have such a unique stock of plants. Them and Hardings are my two go-to nurseries.I'm so excited that our gardening season is finally taking off after the miserable winter we had! I just put in eleven different English garden rose varieties from David Austin too! I'm so happy they do well here! Happy Gardening!

Kinsley's Ghost is one of my family's favorite plants. Almost everyone in my family has one except me. I didn't have room previously for another vine but I may now that I cleared out a new garden space. So I will consider adding it to my yard. Laura from Garden Answer planted one in her yard last year too.

Such a pretty set of dishes and how wonderful your brother brought them to you! I love old china and tea also....wish my mom had a pretty set to pass down to me but with 5 children we were always breaking the dishes! Enjoyed tea time!

Mary, sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your very kind offer. My daughter had surgery 3 1/2 weeks ago and has been back in the hospital twice since then. I am very worried. 😢 But I would love it if you came across some cups and saucers of my mom’s China. The stamp on the back says Semi Vitreous Edwin M. Knowles China Co. Made in the U. S. A. 488

Hello, Michael, and I loved reading your comment. 😀 Sadly, my Kintzey’s Ghost has been very slow growing, I think it is not getting as much sun as I thought it would where I planted it. 🍃 I will be sure to highlight it in my June garden tour for you. It is a plant that needs full sun and I may plant another in a more sunny location. I have seen some fantastic specimens on our town’s garden tour that I am part of each summer. Hi, Joanna, yes, I did show how it is doing in my latest garden tour. Here is a link for that video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eorXhYdnibaNf6M The part about my Kintzleys Ghost is about 15 minutes into the video. I have found it to be slow at getting established. It has been planted for about 3 years and I did find another plant to add to the trellis last summer from a local nursery. But it is really taking off this summer, growing fairly fast up my trellis, even though we have had a rainy and cool summer so far. I am feeling very hopeful that by next summer it will be trailing to the front of my garden shed.😀 Thanks for stopping by my channel, Mary 🐞🌿🍄

Very slow growth, Rachel. 💞 I know that perennials spend their first year establishing their roots, so I am hopeful for this year. 🦋🌿🌷

@@RockyMountainGardens I bought three of these special vines yesterday and one is rather anemic looking as well so hoping it will do okay once it’s planted. I’ll get composted soil and the other nutritious soil you used as well. Hope you’ll post an updated video on your vines later this summer🤩

I had that same problem with one of my vines, it had very poor roots. So it has been struggling, but don’t give up on yours, mine has come back this Spring.
