I was so curious which varieties you bought and you already have. Will you show that to us in a next video? I hope you will find a nice place with a big garden so you can plant even more beauties and hopefully share it with us 🤗🙋Greetings, Judit

🏵I just got my hands on two nice, big Bartzellas. 🏵One for my mom, and one for myself. Judging by the size of these, we may get blooms this year. I love your channel. Happy gardening!!👩🌾

I recently potted a bare root peony on my channel also. I left the eyes above the soil level. I've always done it that way for fear of planting it too deeply and having them not bloom. But I had a couple people correct me that I needed to plant them 2" below soil. But I've always done it that way and its always worked (I have about 5 Peonies). They also didn't like the way I pronounced Peony (like you), and thought I should say it "pee-knee". 🤷🏼♀️ I hope to add an itoh to my yard at some point. They are stunning.

I thought it was “pee-ah-nee”

I thinks it a..where you live thing..I'm on the shore in Maryland, I say pe-Ony. And how about clematis, there's at least 3 ways to pronounce that.
@thaocanhcut2 жыл бұрын
I think it is depend where you live. If you live in a colder climate, it is better to have the root bury 2 in below to protect peony roots from extreme cold. I live in a warmer climate so left my peony roots expose to get colder temperature for better bloom. People on the internet are quite opinionated without consider other people sittuation which make me sad for humanity

Great video! Love peonies so much. I have a couple I'll be starting in pots now as well. It's a couple months until I can work my soil, so I hate to see them sit in a bag that long.

I used to refer to Red hot chilli peppers, the band, as Red hot chili "pipers" because I thought that's how was pronounced. I even told my brother and someone looked down at him for saying it that way. So we never forgot 😂

Like you when I plant bulbs or tubers in the spring I rarely water them in. There is a reason Greenville, SC is called “Greenville.”☔️

It seems counterintuitive, but adding gravel will create a perched water table, possibly creating more drainage issues than without. I know it’s common wisdom to add stuff to the bottom, but I’d hate to see you lose your peonies to rot. 😬 Did you get yours from Jake? I just got mine, too. One ITOH and one coral charm. 😍
@TONYAwiththeflowers2 жыл бұрын
I'll have to add a note about the drainage next time I mention the pots. I've always used a gravel combination with old broken terracotta and never had an issue. And yes, I did! Don't you just love that group, lol! Thanks for watching! 🌱🌱🌱🌱

Growing peonies for the first time this year (not this kind lol).. One has come up and has at least 6 inches of growth, but the other 2 haven't doen anything! I'm a lttiel nervous, because they weren't cheap. But I wonder if that particular one is just ahead, because the bloom season isn't for quite a while.

Mine were doing this. I got anxious and started to shift soil around and found the red shoots and left them uncovered. I think I planted them too deep so hopefully this fixed it
@TONYAwiththeflowers2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't worry too much, especially if they're different varieties. One of my peonies is over a foot tall, and some of them are just now poking out of the soil. 🌱🌱🌱

I really wanted to watch this video since I was specifically interested in planting Itoh peonies in containers. But I could not get past the fact you were not pronouncing "peonies" correctly. It may be location specific but that pronunciation was driving me crazy so I had to move on.

If you want me to watch and pay attention to your advise, the least you can do is learn to pronounce the name of peonies properly.

If you're going to make unnecessary comments on someone's helpful video, the least you could do is run a spell check.
