Planting My American Chestnut Tree Found in the Woods

In today’s video, I will be planting my American chestnut tree that I found in the woods under mature American chestnut trees. A few years back, we discovered this tree along with another one. While the other tree we dug up at the same time unfortunately died, this particular tree has thrived despite being in a pot for some time. I am thrilled to finally plant this tree in the ground today. With the genetics of this tree, I hope it will contribute to the restoration of the American chestnut tree. Thank you all for watching!

Should I plant my chestnuts now in summer or during winter? They are quite small due to years in small containers

If they are acclimated to the heat from being outside then go ahead and plant them. Make sure to keep them well watered but not over watered
