Due to a very dry Spring two years ago when we planted and heavy deer browse only 25% survived. If I were to do it again I would plant bare root saplings they take to the soil quicker and seem to survive better.

How did your plantings turn out? I wanted to try the same thing on my property. I have some wet areas along some of the deer trails that I wanted to transplant some red osier dogwood.

How do you keep deer from eating the ones you planted?
@hawkinsonfamilyfarm3509 ай бұрын
We didn’t have good luck keeping the deer from eating them. You would have to cage them or fence in the whole area to keep them out.

Been 3 years. How did it go?
@hawkinsonfamilyfarm35011 ай бұрын
@TomBTerrific We had heavy deer browse and it was a very dry Spring so we only had about 25% survive. The next time we will plant bare root saplings they adapt quicker and have a better survival rate.

Why not just feed the animals without needlessly killing them? I mean you don’t need to kill them for your survival, hunting is a blood thirsty sport, live in harmony with other species and find you will have consciously evolved!
