Figure 8 the garden velco - like make a loop around the stem and then a separate loop around the support. That will protect the stem from rubbing on the structure.

Wow that gazebo is a work of art. Great idea Saunder on larger planter boxes incorporated into the seating. That rambler rose will need more room to grow and moving it later you'll risk snapping branches when repoting.

You could do weddings here when it fills out. Can't wait to see this grow out over the years. Hopefully you can get big enough planters this years so they have a better chance when winter comes along.

I agree about repeating the honeysuckle around the gazebo. Repeating plants will help the sense of cohesion. There are now some lovely, vigorous rambling roses that repeat flower - Sanders' Rose is just once flowering.

I love gazebos but I find that climbers never do too well in pots, they simply need more space in the long term, and it's hard to repot them once they're well attached. The Winter also kills a lot of them. It's a pretty setting there, and when the benches are in it's going to look so pretty ! 💚🌿🥀🌷😊

I'll be sowing indigenous seeds just after the summer, a couple of Clematis have been on the list for a while.. will probably plant those next year :) always great to see your progress, it inspired me to look at more than just esthetics in my garden! Great stuff

Be careful of that rose companion, it is an aggressive self seeder and will spread and take over if you aren’t careful.
