Looking good man that’s about dated planter for my area that your running we still use a jd 6 row 🤣🤣🥃🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🍻🍻
@iafarmer7 ай бұрын
Oh it's definitely outdated here also. If you don't have 24 row or high speed it isn't hardly worth going to the field lol. I like equipment like your 6 row that makes money vs costing lol

The top looks dry, but it is still wet here. Rain every day next week starting tonight. To windy to spray or spread fertilizer. Thanks for the ride, lol.

We are saturated here now and ponds everywhere. Had probably 5 inches in the last 10 days. Another 6 tenths last night and more on the way. Hope you can get some in soon

We actually do alot of those things. I have spots in every farm that needs different treatment in my opinion. The most successful farmers in my area do things real similar to what I do

Could you do a 2024 farm and equipment tour?
@iafarmer7 ай бұрын
I have mixed emotions on that. I show pretty much everything already, seems like most tours come off as arrogant and I have no reason to be if you know what I mean. I will toss the idea around. Thanks

@gleanerk no storm damage here thankfully! Was all south of us. Was probably closer to agwild than me but I don't think he had any either

I love using climate field view but it still isn’t compatible with my newer model seedhawk/vaderstad

I'm suprised they don't have it compatible. I started using it as part of a promotion deal they had a few years ago. It comes in pretty handy

How do you put Nitrogen into corn ?
@iafarmer8 ай бұрын
A little diverse on nitrogen. Some gets hog manure and add a little 32% preplant, other fields get fall anhydrous and a shot at preplant and some gets sidedressed

I suspect that you already know or at least have thought about it but your neighbour might well plant at least twice your forward speed with your drill but his cost per acre on depreciation, if not for spares, is likely 6 - 10 times your costs per acre. At the end of the financial year that hurts the pocket especially with prices of commodities on the floor compared to a short while ago and forward prices looking weak at best.
@iafarmer8 ай бұрын
Yup I don't understand how some people do it. I understand every operation is different, but I try not to buy anything I can't write a check for (or pay for by years end). I pay repairs vs. depreciation, so maybe it evens out, but atleast I know at the end of the year I have an asset vs a liability
@mrbill41878 ай бұрын
They'll still plant high speed, my neighbor plants 12mph with finger meters🤣🤣
@iafarmer8 ай бұрын
Good lord youd think the meters would start on fire lol. I should try 10 just to see how bad it does 🤔

@mrbill4187 lol there's a guy not too far away that plants 8mph with an old cyclo that must have the same mentality 🤣

The precision planting dealer I work with had a customer with a 900 cyclo that put a 20/20 on it and he wanted to know how to change the color on the monitor cuz everything was red since it was planting so bad lol

Them high-speed planters are over rated, my seed dealer just bought a new deere 16-row exact-emerge and he said screw the high speed and go the regular. When you get to pulling a planter a 14mph that's hard on stuff I think and you have to buy a tractor big enough to pull it. The payment program on a new planter is probably a little high.
@iafarmer8 ай бұрын
I guess everyone's situation is different, but having the ability to plant more accurate at high speeds could return your investment pretty good on the right year. In my case if it saved having to change to 16 row, and then changing the corn head and sprayer set up to match up better, a high speed 12 could almost make sense. I think with precision vdrive you can plant accurate up to 8mph without speed tubes, but you'd probably need hydraulic downforce to keep the thing in the ground
@kolewiebensohn8 ай бұрын
@@iafarmer Yeah idk. just don't seem right to me, I'll stick with my paid off 7000 6 row.
