Good morning! I created a large, brand new shade garden yesterday! I have a Zebra stripe hosta, White feather hosta and Canadian blue. The blue hosta has very large leaves when mature. I also planted 15 Heucheras. I hope this grows. I'll send pics. Thanks for inspiring us.

Thank you for this video and the many others. This week I successfully hooked up the planters on our porch to drip line and planted caladiums, begonias, impatiens, and sweet potato vine. It’s a white and green theme but dimensional with all the different shades of greens and variegation on the leaves. I would have never completed this project with success if it weren’t for you, Aaron, and Garden Answer.

Hi Laura and Aaron! The topiary planters by the barn will be so pretty when the plants fill in. I'm thinking the sweet potato vines might disappear later on. LOL! I love that Laura is the one getting down and dirty doing all the digging and planting. With her platform and reach, she could totally hire all of the manual labor out and film them doing it but she chooses not to! Its been so cold i thought I had lost my lily of the valley which usually comes out in early spring. Its mid May and a dozen or more of the lily of the valley have popped up. Not blooming yet but so happy to see they have not only survived but have multipled!!!

Me too Carol. I switched jobs in February and this is the first spring I’ve really had to watch my garden spending. My husband and I went into business for ourselves, and I know it’ll get better but for now I’m strapped. It’s always been a pleasure to watch GA but especially this year!

@@alisonsneed3707 yes! Me and my friends also swap plants. We have big dig parties where one of us hosts a lunch and everyone comes and digs plants that need thinning or whatever. Then the next person another week and so on. It’s always fun and a great way to grow our gardens!

I'm in SW Pa and normally I am sitting here jealous that you are able to plant so much before me. This year its like our weather is reversed! Its been really warm (80's) and no cold nights in weeks. And I won't lie, I'm loving it! I HATE cold springs!

Laura, in all my years of gardening, I never potted up much, until you came along! Then this Spring .. BAM. While waiting for in-ground spaces around the garden and my soon-to-be-completed Pondless Fall, I planted up Petunias, various Perennials, even a Juniper surrounded by some Pansies! So bright and colorful and no worrying about the flats sitting around for a week or two .. or three 😉😬😻. And I have 3 volunteer Yews that showed up, I'll put those in some Trugs in the hopes of keeping them manageable. Thanks for your encouragement! Alysen

I absolutely LOVE caladiums! They provide such beauty and weight with their leaves! I just planted a border of the same variety in my front flower bed along with some magenta sunpatiens and pineapple brandy coleus. I’m in love with the color combination! 🌿💕💚

@@kaystinebrink1220 you’re very welcome! They’re very easy to grow, you’ll be a pro in no time. To overwinter in your zone in containers, I’d just mulch over them heavily for winter and place in the sunniest, warmest part of your yard. They should be just fine. My mom is in the same zone as you and that’s what she does, hers are in containers as well 🙂

Just bought a couple Green Mountain Boxwood for screening on my balcony. Great shrub, they seem to thrive so easily. Also, your cats are so sweet!
