Mount Royal Plum is susceptible to black knot so keep an eye out for it, and prune out immediately! Burn the infeced branches before they can release any spores. Check the wood in the cut for brown staining and keep pruning until there is none... I had to cut mine off at the ground last year from not being diligent enough! Luckily i have a couple of whips pushed up this spring...

Meh, what's another five years for a really good fruit salad! Actually, we were out checking the pear tree and it has LOADS of blossom starts on it so let's hope for a good year there!

@@JTBear I just recently found out from praxis that after your tree actually sets its fruit fertilize it well so it can build up its energy to put on next year's crop that is after the fruit has set he didn't say what size they needed to be

hi jt bear, i live in an area like yours very short season, and my ph balance has been to high, so i bought some ammonium sulfate, do you have any suggestions on it, need help in getting my plants to actually grow more then one or two

Sadly I'm not that good with pH issues. ☹ I would probably either plant something that likes that type of pH, blueberries like acidic soils, there's gotta be something for the other extreme too .... or, I would try adding in compost to see if that helps. BUT as I said, not that good with pH issues. Wish I could be more helpful!
