@@yerneedsry Try your tree fruit when first ripe, let it sit a little longer and then try, and try it on counter after a week of sitting out and after a month in cold storage. A fruits flavor can change with all those changes. Also a few years might change taste as tree matures. Then you can try wet season verses dry and soil amendments. Some people claim a different pollinator verses self-fertile changes flavor.

European plums and the American / Japanese plum hybrids are the late bloomers of the plums. I don't expect to get fruit every year off our Pluots / Pluerries or Japanese plums, but the others should be fairly reliable. We've got 2 more spots for plums and we're going to put in a Toka and Waneta (hybrids), both should be later and more broadly blooming.

You get that at Stark Bros? I bought a "Bubblegum" plum from them earlier this year, it was just a whip and its bushing out well.

I bought two Santa Rosa plums last week. I have less issues with plums than with apples and they dont grow as fast as pears. Pears can get away from you . . But I got to cut the plume tree in half before next spring. Doing so stunts the growth a whole season. I dont want a ten foot plum tree. Maybe 8 feet max

Fruits are very hard to grow successfully ,berries are your best bet Ross good luck nice video.

Yes but berries generally don’t taste much better from store bought. Whereas you can’t compare home grown stone fruits and figs to store bought as they home varieties are substantially better ;-))))
