Way to go Alla and Sergie! The laundry will be so so nice to have out of your kitchen and into its own spot! Few people would have been as brave to take on this project like you have, with little budget, but big heart! 😊❤

There's a special kind of sealer you can put on cement walls that keeps. Moisture from coming through the walls and foundations , talk to them at the supply store, good job!!!!

Will you keep access to the pipes in case they burst in the winter from freezing? And don't the walls need to breathe so it doesn't get moldy in there?

Dear friends, please take care of that Ape as much as you can. That vehicle is a foundation to all your projects. Mechanically it is important that you take care of it. You will not value what you have until you can't use it any longer. Love all your videos and I wish you all the best. ❤❤

I would suggest before you go ahead with putting the brick wall up that you look at putting either a membrane or a waterproof spray onto the wall below the ground level to help keep the water from coming through because the water will come through eventually

Dream to have a drier in Italy. We spent a month in Argegno (October) to a day to a day and a half…. But the view was spectacular, but for a few days… total fog on the lake.

It would be best to figure out how to decrease the moisture getting in…perhaps installing French drains outside and/or inside. You could run a dehumidifier and have it draining continuously into a floor drain. I have a part of my basement that needs to have a dehumidifier running 3/4 of the year. I have to dump out the water almost daily in the summer. The floor is slightly below the outside ground level, a bit like your laundry room. But, I plan on getting professional help to get the appropriate drainage installed before I do anything else to that space. Please get Ape Maria whatever she needs to keep her happy. She is a critical member of your renovation team! 😇

Hi Alla & Sergei, I hope you had an awesome Christmas 🎄 & ready to celebrate New Year’s Eve 🎉🥂🍾 I think it’s a great idea, leaving a gap between the wall & bricks 🧱 if you can afford to waterproof the brick,(not a sealant ) before the final finishing on the brick, maybe the water will run around the back of the bricks 🧱 then put a drainage outlet in the room ! This way it may stop your electrical appliances from rusting out ! Wishing you both Sergei & Alla a Wonderful Happy New Year 🎉❤🥂🍾

Here in Canada, we use a black rubber paint to keep moisture from coming in. I think there is also a paper or membrane. You might have to dig up your patio to put in a drain to help the moisture move away from the wall. I would talk to a builder if you can. Looking forward to see what you do.❤
@margaretbulloch84659 ай бұрын
My friend is a builder and suggests you put a waterproof coating in the wall and a French drain between the walls. You could also put waterproof membrane in too. It will be great when you get it finished. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

I would hope that they have something planned as they’re putting in a washing machine in there which won’t last long if it floods. I just don’t think they necessarily explain in that amount of detail. You do worry though as you don’t want them to lose money or time.

Alla your visions are alway magnificent when they come to life! I can’t help wondering though if this room would be better as only for the garden/diy storage and workshop, with a boot/dog shower, and then your beautiful laundry is inside, perhaps in the old kitchen upstairs, as it will look more like your inspiration pictures and you’ll have lots of light and room for pretty drying racks? But I know that whatever you do will be unique and beautiful, and pure pleasure to watch. Thank you for your generosity in sharing yours days and projects with us ❤

I am excited to see what you do with this laundry room. You always are surprising. Why not just fix the APA? It seems so frustrating to get in and it does not start. That seems like a priority. But, oh well it is how much you can put up with it not me.

Do you have a professional advising on building the wall? It would help to know that you have discussed this with someone who has built something similar and this is the recommendation. Please get a new battery for the ape. It all seems a bit dangerous to drive it in the current condition.

Magnolia grandiflora is native to the Southeastern United States and grows in our forests. It is an iron tree of North America. The wood is exceptionally strong and magnolia firewood allows to reach higher fire temperature. However, magnolia branches are brittle and can be damaged by strong winds

You were humming Que Sera, it made me cry, it was the song my mum used to sing to us when we were little. She couldn't sing at all, totally tone deaf, and we used to tell her to shut up , now I would give anything to hear her now, she passed away 7 years ago and I miss her so much . 😢

I cried too, as my Mum used to sing it to me when I was little too. She also died 7 years ago, aged 100. I long to hear her voice again singing the song. Que Sera was sung by Doris Day. From memory, she sang it in a movie she made in the 1950’s which was popular and released as a single. Really enjoyed today’s episode Alla and Sergi. Happy New Year to all

Love your work ethic and creativity you two. You’re inspiring. I have one question about laundry room. Are you attaching bricks to the wall or do you have rebar inside the cavities of the bricks? Just was worried it could fall. Looking forward to your new room. Hoping you can figure out water issues too. ❤
