Exactly what I needed for my project thank you. I imagine there are more details like type of soil and tree, but this is a good start :)

After planting trees for so many years in the yards as home owner, this is my first time actually learned how to properly plant a tree. Thank you so much!

This is great soil for trees. No need to amend it, sigh, my envy. It is not a slope, but she did explain it very well how to plant on a slope. I appreciate that.

This was exactly what I was looking for, so well explained and demonstrated. Thank you. I'm glad to know I've been intuitively doing some things correctly ~ didn't know what a swale was, but I created them anyway; as well as the berm. But my head is in my hands thinking about how many times I twirled those gangly tender roots in a circle, trying to tuck them in the hole. Usually with trees I've picked up along the side of the road or transplanted from my property; and the roots were much longer on one side than the other. I'd dig and dig trying to make a big enough hole; and then finally give up and just circle around the last bit of root length. My poor trees. I wonder what havoc I have wreaked on their well-being. Thank you so much for including these kind of details in your videos. You really know your stuff and you so generously share it with us! 🌸🍃

Haha I do the same with the walls of the hole, haven't seen many doing this though. Good job. After 10 years I believe the tree is really well established.

My par6ner didn't believe me that we could play on a slope. This convinced him. Thank you. Well done.

What slope? She couldn't choose a more leveled spot?

I always soak the bottom of hole first,and water every 3 inches as we fill with soil.a trunk guard is a must also.

Great video, very helpful.

Not a very deep slope. When I planted mine I had to build a little dry stacked retaining wall to support the backfill. I came here to see if I did it right. I assume so.

For goodness sake, please show us a slope. I certainly wouldn't call that a slope.🤦🏻♀️😂

If you had dug a similar depth hole in my soil you would have excavated about 6 tons of rock already #fml
@nabeelkareem5 жыл бұрын
I assume you live in Virginia. I get 6.1 ton for similar hole.

I guess in Oklahoma that’s what they consider a “slope”😒

Oklahoma. Our slopes are gentle. I do have a steeper slope in my suburban yard though and was looking for guidance. The grower planted our tree and bermed all the way around it, building a well. They told me that is to prevent heavy uphill watering (lawn) from running into the tree. I’m now confused.
